Not cool. I'd never drive it but I've had stuff happen to my car and it's no fun.

I can't imagine why anyone would put themselves in a death trap like that though.

Can you imagine driving one of those and getting t-boned by an Expedition
Maybe it was just windy in Frisco yesterday :idunno:

Agree they shouldn't be on interstates, there is to much speed and 18 wheelers. We need the 18 wheelers more, they transport virtually everything we use.
But there may come a day when the smart cars are accepted for low speed applications like getting around the cities. I think that day will come, but probably not in our lifetimes.

Flipping them is vandalism and should be just as punishable as vandalism to a classic car (and I do love classic cars).

Only disrespecting photos of scantly clad women is more offensive.

There's no way I'd drive one of those.

I've never driven a Smart Car before, but I drove a VW Up! in the UK last year... The thing was the most gutless car I've ever driven.

That wreck at the bottom is'nt a smart car tho......maybe a cross polo by VW

The Smart car would have fared even worse.
I don't know clutch, It was posted as a smart car but the wheels look too large.

I don't think that there are any vehicles that can meet a semi face to face and have favorable results.

Of course you're right but just damn, look at that thing and these. There just doesn't seem to be "fender benders" with those things.

The resulting pictures of the vandalism are kind-of funny, although I doubt the owners think so.
It's not hard to embarrass a Smart car without damaging it, but of course vandals only care about their pranks and not the consequences.

The Smart gets “good” safety ratings from most tests, and does as well as or better than most of its competition. It has decent ****pit module strength and dissipates crash energy by shedding parts outside of that module – much like a race car. But you’re right to worry about encountering a large heavy vehicle. You might want to drive it like a motorcycle – either very careful around other vehicles or “don’t give a darn”.

Personally I’m not into the Smart because after looking at and driving several gasoline powered models I don’t like their handling or ride quality or build quality. But although I’m willing to share my opinions about the car I’m not going to assume that it’s unsuitable for everybody. The most interesting version (EV) is aggravating because it is very difficult to find one outside of the west coast. My local dealer promised to obtain one almost a year ago… I’m still waiting.
