Braun Racing has announced the addition of Brian Vickers to the No. 10 Toyota Camry driver line-up in the NASCAR Busch Series.
Vickers will race the No. 10 Camry in four Busch Series races starting this weekend at Michigan International Speedway with sponsorship from Fan1st.com.
Vickers will also run the No. 10 at Bristol Motor Speedway, California Speedway and Richmond International Raceway.
“Braun Racing and the 38 team recently earned Toyota's first Busch Series win, so the potential is there with this program,” Vickers said. “The No.10 team has had some great finishes this year, so my goal is to keep that pace going and see if we can pick up their next Busch victory.”
Dave Blaney had been the primary driver of the No. 10 Braun Racing Camry in the 2007 season.
In 20 races with the team this year, Blaney captured seven top-10 finishes, three top-five finishes and one pole.
“We enjoy our relationship with Dave Blaney,” Braun Racing owner Todd Braun added. “He is still a valued part of the organization and has done a great job for us this season.
“We are also initiating a relationship with fellow Toyota driver Brian Vickers now. We plan to have both drivers in the fold for the remainder of this year as we continue to build and strengthen our relationships within Toyota.”
Vickers began his Busch Series career in 2001. In 2003 he took home the Busch Series Championship in his first full season of competition, becoming NASCAR's youngest-ever champion at 20 years of age.
In 73 series starts, Vickers captured three wins, 16 top-fives and 28 top-10 finishes.
