I just wanted to here what all of u think a bout this camp.

I think it is a good camp and helps some kids that really need it.
But i also think the Kyle Petty pockets a lot of the money, how do we know that it all goes to the camp like he says?

I don't think Kyle would do that, the camp was also set up as a memory to his son, and you would have to be a very sorry person to pocket the money going in to a camp like that.

you know, after Scott Riggs won the open, I remember thinking "Wow, how sweet of him to come out during introductions with his son". So, when Kyle Petty came out with one of the VJG kids, for some odd reason I though, "Why wouldn't he come out with his son?" Of course, I quickly remembered the reason for that and it really occurred to me why he and his wife are doing all of this. I know it happens that people who run "charity organizations" dip from the pot, but I really don't think Kyle would do that. The accusation in and of itself is completely horrible and offensive. Kyle has plenty of money and I'm sure he puts part of his own money into the camp. All it took for me was that one moment of realizing why Kyle started the camp to know that he deserved to be in the All Star race, not just for racing and not just because of the money that got donated to the camp, but because he is doing an amazing thing and using his celebrity and influence for good. In a world where so many celebrities (Tom Cruise, Madonna) use their celebrity to promote expensive religions, I think Kyle Petty is a real All Star and role model for anyone looking to do good with their life.

Not only Kyle, but his wife Patty too. :)

That's a ludicrous thing to say.

There's no way Kyle takes money from VJG....i mean come one..what would make you even think that? Kyle is one of the best all around guys in the history of the sport.

i dont think it'll happen...and its sad that it probably wont.....but take the moment where all the crews came out and shook Dale Earnhardt's hand after he won the Daytona 500 and multiple that times 10....thats how its going to be if Kyle ever wins another race....those grandstands would go crazy if he did......i hope to god that happens one day.

WOW!!!!
I'd truly hate to be you, and have to live with a mind like that.

D.E.I.Fan, I am soory for you. You have to be the most miserable person in the world to live with a cynical mind like that. :(

Guess you found outv how the rest of the "family" feels about Kyle and the VJGC, didn't you????? :beerbang:

What a dreadful thing to even hint at.

The Petty family are doing this to honor Adam. They have dealt with the loss of their son and grandson and have changed the lives of many children for the better as well as for the other people who donate time and money to the camp.

This is not a stand alone organization but is one of the Hole in the Wall Gang Camps founded by Paul Newman.

And I should also like to point out that Kyle does have a living son Austin as well as a daughter.

Kyle and Pattie Pettty are heroes.

D.E.I. Fan, your abundant praise of the Victory Junction Gang Camp is appreciated.
If you have any question of what percentage of monies raised go to management, actual operating expense or into the pockets of founders, it is available. This is one of the requirements of any charitable organization listed with the federal government as such.

Unless D.E.I. Fan has other specific cause, his reasoning for suspecting misappropriation of funds is based on " i also think..." , when in fact it is obvious, D.E.I. Fan did not.

sorry if i made all of u mad, but i was just wandering how we know that he is giving every penny to VJG?

So which is it...."pockets alot" or "every penny" either way its a foolish question

Young man, I suggest you do some serious research before you post something close to this drivel ever again.
It seems that you have inserted your foot so far down your throat that it's going to take one heck of a lot for you to redeem yourself.
You are young and haven't learned an important one of life's lessons yet, when to listen (or read) and either back off or apologize.

That he did, but then compounded the initial faux pas with his
"sorry if i made all of u mad, but i was just wandering how we know that he is giving every penny to VJG?"

Oh fer cryin' out loud. The young man made an observation and you all jumped all over him. With all the greed that is in the news of late, it's no wonder that something like this would come up. DEI fan is still pretty young and might not even remember when Adam Petty was killed or the whole story behind the VJG. A little education towards the young man would have worked very well, but with all the negative shots he's taken, I'm sure that he might have some ill will towards many of you.

Axl, Kyle still has a living son and a daughter as well. However, his living son is not a racer or ever wanted to be on. There was a time when Austin Petty thought about trying to take up where Adam left off, but knew that he didn't have the drive to become a pilot of one of those machines. I imagine that Kyle's daughter, Montgomery Lee might have been a better racer than Austin.

You could have educated him too but chose not to.

Again i am sorry and i will try not to ask a stupid question like this again

Bottom line is Kyle and Patti have done a wonderful thing and I wish more people, with more money than they know what to do with, would do the same thing.
Here's to the Petty's
