Jacques Villeneuve will be back in Sprint Cup this weekend at Watkins Glen. Villeneuve, who is currently in Europe, has received an offer from Richard Petty Motorsports replace Reed Sorensen at the wheel of the #43 Dodge [for Watkins Glen]. Villeneuve, said that in talks with the new team USF1 for a possible return to Formula 1, and said that other proposals to run in NASCAR by the end of the season.

What a joke, there has to be someone else besides him to put in the 43. Good grief, where is Christian Fittipaldi when you need him. Put John Andretti back in the car before a unproven washed up open wheeler.

This was denied by Petty. Reed Sorensen is/was suffering from Carbon Monoxide poisoning after last weekends race and Villeneuve is there as standby.

Jacques is going to be driving in the Canadian Tire Series race in a couple of weeks at the Trois-Rivieres Grand Prix.

Yeah, Andretti and Fittipaldi are big winners in nascar.

Joking about Fittapaldi and his entire NASCAR career, Andretti atleast has won on the circuit, and has tons more experience tha Jacque V.

arent there a bunch of road ringers other than villeneuve that have spent TONS more time in a cup car?

Then eagain, even Andy Lally is running at Watkins :DDD

Andy Lally has two career Nationwide starts (one top-ten), 12 career Truck starts with an average finish of 24th, and raced for TRG at the New Jersey road course last year in the ARCA Series. One more lap and he would've won that race.
