I've updated the 2007 racing schedule and 2007 rules sections on the Volunteer Speedway Web site at www.volunteerspeedway.com

You will notice where the Super Late Models will only race three Saturdays out of each month. With the World of Outlaws sprint cars scheduled in March during Bristol Motor Speedway NASCAR weekend, and a $5,000-to-win Super Late Model show the following night; then $3,000-to-win SLM events scheduled each month, along with the Scorcher 100 and another $20,000-to-win World of Outlaws Late Model show in October, it all adds up to a very ambitious 2007 schedule for Volunteer Speedway.

There's a possibility that an American Motorcycle Association flat-track (type) motorcycle national event will be held at the track in 2007. A couple of the top racers' from AMA will be at the track next week testing, trying to see if the bikes can compete on the high banks. And there's also the possibility a Monster Truck event could be added to the schedule.

Some may say, "I don't like motorcycle racing or Monster Trucks." Well, the racetrack is also an entertainment complex, and anything that might possibly be a good (entertaining) show for fans of all ages, the track must look into scheduling events like that.

Now that the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series has released their 2007 schedule at the PRI Trade Show in Orlando, Fla., you will see that Volunteer Speedway will be having a Lucas Oil event on Saturday, July 7.

In 2007 at "The Gap" we will be having the World of Outlaws Late Models and Sprint Cars, Lucas Oil Late Models, the AMA Flat Track motorcycles, the Scorcher 100 and the monthly $3,000-to-win Super Late Model races, and "possibly" a couple other special events.

We hope to see everyone come out to Volunteer Speedway in 2007 and support these events. I've read it time and again on this forum, and others, where many people want tracks to have big money series events. The WoO Late Models and Sprint Cars will bring in the best in dirt racing, and the Lucas Oil Late Model event will also be huge.

I have never been to Volunteer but may have to check a race or two out this year. Really like the Lucas Oil Super Late Models!

Kelloggs Shirley will love that the world of outlaws are racing here during Bristol March weekend. Being from Indiana she keeps up with them.

You'll have to take her down to the track. THey have made alot of improvements and have a great schedule this year. I still need for you to look for that plate when you are in Bristol. Has to be one somewhere.
