BULLS GAP, Tenn. — There will be no racing at Volunteer Speedway on Saturday, Aug. 11 or Saturday, Aug. 18. The next event scheduled will be the Fourth Annual Scorcher 100, paying $20,000-to-win and $3,000-to-start on Tuesday through Thursday, Aug. 21-23 presented by Young Oil Co. and sanctioned by the World of Outlaws Late Model Series. With the "Ramey Ford" Crate Late Model division to be sanctioned in 2007 by the Fastrak Racing Series, drivers who compete weekly at Volunteer Speedway will be eligible for the huge national point fund offered by Fastrak. The tire of choice by Fastrak is Goodyear, so therefore for 2007 the Crate Late Model class will be required to race on Goodyear tires only. The only two tire compounds allowed will be the G45 and G50. Roger Clendenin Racing & Parts will have a fully-stocked parts trailer at the track every Saturday night during the 2007 racing season. The trailer will be located in the backside pits beside the concession stand, and a racing gas tank is in place beside of the RCR parts trailer. Drivers' between the ages of 16-18, before you compete in your first race you must bring either your driver's license or birth certificate with you to the track to verify your age. Plus, a consent form must be signed by both parents. Also, anyone under the age of 18 wishing to enter the pit gate (pits and backside tier-parking), you "must" have your parent(s) or legal guardian sign the proper paperwork to allow you access. The paperwork only needs to be properly filled-out one time, and it will then be kept on file.
All cars are required to have hookup points on both the front and rear for the wreckers to easily attach to during wrecks, helping to make clearing the track a quicker process.
