I've lost the article but a search will reveal the show will be tentatively called Cobalt. Cobalt?
Set in LA but most likely filmed in Vancouver, [tax reasons]
The time line is what happens to the world from when Rick gets shot to when he awakens from his coma. Possible the doc from the CDC may return.

That does sound interesting. I was wondering what they would do for a spinoff, and figured they would just follow another set of survivors somewhere else. This sounds like a better idea.
