Knowing nothing about the show other then zombies and Atlanta, I would say following tv rules she is lost somewhere on her own miraculously surviving by dumb luck.
 
Awesome, awesome show. And that opening segment was the most intense and terrifying opening segment to any TV show, anytime, anywhere.
