Waltrip parked for aggressive driving at Talladega
TALLADEGA, Ala. (AP)—NASCAR has pulled Michael Waltrip off the track for aggressive driving at Talladega Superspeedway.
Waltrip was warned to give Jimmie Johnson some space during Friday’s final practice session as he bump-drafted behind Johnson’s car. When Waltrip didn’t let up, he was black-flagged for the final 30 minutes of practice.

NASCAR is keeping a close eye on bump-drafting this weekend, in large part because of the fallout over the harrowing accident on the final lap of April’s race at Talladega. Carl Edwards’ car was hit by winner Brad Keselowski, and the contact sent Edwards’ car airborne into the fence.

Several fans were hurt by flying debris.

He seemed pretty pleased with himself afterward and said that they absolutely had to find out how the cars were going to work on Sunday.

wonder if any cars will be given a drive-thru for aggressive driving sunday? my guess is yes, which leads to who will get it? mikey seems a good candidate. <g>

Hmm. Makes me wonder, will they penalize anyone for bump drafting, or just if it happens to be a non-chase bump drafting a chaser...

I can't recall if Na$car has ever parked a car during practice for agressive driving, can you? I'm sure Mikey said he was bump drafting as they always do there and JJ was screaming like a little girl that Mikey's trying to wreck me.
Na$car will park you for agressive driving during the race, usually after a incident but again this was in practice? Why not just have them seperate and find other drafting partners?

Yeh i think a different set of rules will apply to the Chase guys.;)

The first practice was wild and wooly with a couple of spins because of aggressive bumping. They were going at it like it was the last lap --- 4 and 5 wide.

At the start of the 2nd practice, NASCAR asked that the drivers keep some daylight between bumpers, especially in the corners. They warned Kasey Kahne, Michael, and a couple of others. Michael had a hard time hearing them.

They didn't park him --- he was told to come to the garage for a little while. He did get back out.

I thought the news stories were wrong.

If I remember right, they showed him going out for a few laps before the practice was over.

But that doesn't make as good of a story for the 48 haters.

I hate to put it like this but I'd really like to see a "big one" in the first 15 laps or so, see most of the Chase guys get caught up in it so that the race would actually be interesting. I don't want to see anybody get hurt, just make it interesting as far as the standings go. Johnson getting wrecked early would make so much more fun for the rest of the guys and for the fans i think. JJ pretty much has a lock on it right now if he stays out of trouble at Dega.

Great minds like alike. :D:beerbang:

Except Mark has to be unscathed. The 42 takes out the 48 who takes out the 24. Martin and Stewart battle for the win. Then mid race the 88 puts the 18 in the wall who then takes out the 20 and JR says in the interview "rubbin' is racin". Kyle says "baawaawaawaaa". :D
