Debit cards are a piece of crap!!

Anyone that uses a debit card should use a much safer CREDIT CARD and pay it off each month..
TWO of my daughters have had their debit cards compromised.. The first by a person taking house payments monthly from a card. This person, an employee of a large company, deceided to take extra payments and place them in her OWN account..
The next daughter had someone take a vacation across Europe on her card...completely draining her accounts...both the checking and also the savings.. Thjis person wasn't caught.
With a credit card these things will be someone elses money and not your own hard earned money..
Betsy:rolleyes:

I had my debit card compromised last year. Someone bought some itunes and tried to purchase something over $3,000 thru PayPal. Obviously, I didnt have enough on my debit card to cover that plus my bank questioned it and called me that morning to verify. I did not lose any money and the purchases were of course denied.
I did have to get a new debit card and pin number. That was a big inconvenience. I love my debit card. I live on this thing. I hardly ever carry cash.

That's me DR. I don't carry cash. I just stick the receipt in my purse and write it down when I get home. I love my debit card. My sister is going through withdrawals LOL. She is a bigger user of a debit card than me. She never has cash. She went to the dentist the other day and dropped her Debit card in the AC vent. No one could get to it and she had to call the bank and they are sending another one but it is killing her right now.:D

Debit cards with the VISA or Master card logo offer zero liability in case of lost, stolen or unathorized purchases.

There, you don't have to look it up because I already did.:D

But feel free to do so iffen ya want:smile:

My Visa debit card is backed by my bank.

I say this, if you don't want to use one, don't. If you're comfortable using one, then by all means do. I'm comfortable...are you?

nope - have one but never used it. i like cash or check for big purchases. credit/debit cards have a way of sneaking up on you. just ask my wife, don't think she'd have a clue what to do with cash. <g>

My debit card is also my Visa card. I use it like a credit card. I keep the receipt and write the expenditure in my checkbook. Saves time at the gas pump and grocery store.

I always use my debit card, I havent written a check for over 7 years now, I use bill pay through BOFA. Don't get any written statements either , just get them in my e-mail. Less paper work, less hassle as far as I'm concerned.

Not true. My bank just debunked that statement last year when my card was compromised. It has a VISA logo. They denied the purchases, contacted me, and handled it exactly the way I wanted it.

I still dont like pay before you pump. Because you have to go get in line, give them how much you think it will be, go pump, and go back and wait in line to get your money, or even have to give them more money.

Just to much work if your goin to pay with cash like i like to do.
