Quote:

Richmond International Raceway and hometown favorite Denny Hamlin are teaming up to host the fourth annual Denny Hamlin Short Track Showdown .
NASCAR Sprint Cup Series drivers and other NASCAR celebrities currently scheduled to run in the Denny Hamlin Short Track Showdown include Hamlin, Tony Stewart, Kasey Kahne, Michael Waltrip, Joey Logano, Trevor Bayne, Hermie Sadler and Martinsville Speedway President Clay Campbell.

More about the race here: http://www.cbssports.com/nascar/story/14998249/hamlins-charity-race-ready-to-grow-some-more

After this race, it's either gonna be:

Denny Hamlin's Short Track Showdown > Tony Stewart's Prelude to the Dream

or

Denny Hamlin's Short Track Showdown < Tony Stewart's Prelude to the Dream

Bet you dirt racing fans will pick the Prelude all day and every day.

Everyone's a winner, though: The fans, the drivers, and most importantly, the beneficiaries (charities) from money raised from these events.

The weather might not be very cooperative but we shall hope.

And, like any late model race in the region, Race22.com has it covered as well.

DIRT ALL DAY EVERY DAY lol. Especially at the Daytona and Indianapolis track of dirt racing wrapped into one ELDORA!

but im not byass or anything lol

I heard that Bill Elliott is to take Bayne's ride for this race. I believe that Chase Elliott is in this race as well. Anyone know if this would be their first race against each other?

Just saw bill under the stands and got an autograph. Its a shame speed isnt airing THE race of the night. K&n should put on a great show. Too bad its a 100 and not 125

The rain is over.

The race will be finished on the TV when the track gets dried. Then the DH race will be shown..
Betsy:D

Thats cool that they will air the end of the k&n race. They should have done that from the start. They are 29 laps in. Track drying is going well

Dave Blaney's kid looks like he is 10

Nick Smith, LOL. We can expect a lot of cars to get torn up in this one.

CE Falk's a good driver, good kid.

I guess Adam DNQ'd because the drivers he was faster than were guaranteed a spot.

That's the first time I've ever seen or heard of Nick Smith being involved in a wreck that wasn't is fault.

"Lap half"

DP, does this count towards our predictions (it's not actually a NASCAR sanctioned event:growl:)?

If so, Bucky's destined for elimination because Kenny Wallace is saying some damn dumb stuff.

Yep, The Michael Waltrip Channel is giving Michael Waltrip a ton of coverage.

Mike Joy and Ken Schrader know their ****, too bad Kenny Wallace is up there trying to upstage DW in the annoying department.

#76 just drove in over his head there but he did have some help. Did Kenny really have to scream like a moron?

They're not changing the rules as they go, SPEED's the only media outlet covering this race having a hard time understanding the rules.

No it doesn't count. Bucky's still safe. I think anyone that watched the race would have to agree with you and your assessment. My favorite part was when Mike Joy told Kenny to shut up. I couldn't agree more.

I see where our local boy, Burt Myers finished 8th. Not bad after receiving broken ribs and a punctured lung two weeks ago.

I hope it will be rebroadcast (I'm sure it will be), as I'd like to watch the race. Being on the photo stands is great, but it doesn't give you much of a view. I was nowhere close for either wreck so I'd like to know what happened.

A number of people at the track felt the finish was rigged. Hamlin had a beast of a car coming from the back to begin with, but the finish with Busch leading the entire race and having fuel pickup problem on the last lapped bugged a number of people. I'm surprised that didn't come up here.

A lot of people who commented on RACE22 felt the same way.
