Must have been the time I almost drowned at coney island that put the fear of swimming in me..:( :( :(

just never learned..............when I applied for the pompano beach police dept...one of the requirements was you had to swim.............there went my police career........:) :( :( :(

QT, I almost drowned once, too!...BUT living less than 1 mile from Boston Harbor at age 7, I learned and when I turnes 12 I also became a Jr Lifeguard and swimming instructor. I did this all summer thru HS, and used to compete too.

All you really need is to find someone who can help you overcome the fear without making fun, and you too can swim!

I can swim, have done a little diving, Can't water or snow ski. I guess I'm just not coordinated enough. Another draw back is the fact that I am afraid of heights. I'd never get up the ski lift.:bleh:

I have tried to snow ski and water ski, but the times I tried ended badly. I found it was much easier to sled and swim.

The first time I went sking, it was on a slick slope and I ended up tumbling halfway down the hill. Water sking ended up with me lying in the water hearing the jaws theme music and wondering what exactly was under the water.

Just brewski for me thank you. Can't swim, and it is not wise to put this much weight on two boards and send it down a frozen hill.

I can water ski ok but I can't snow ski. I've only been once and I never left the bunny slope. I've been told that it's easy to get up when you fall..... not so for me. When I fell I just around, I couldn't get up. I would have to wait for my friends to come down the mountain to help me up. Meanwhile little kids about 6 yrs old are blasting down the mountain right past me.

Hey PG, you have to get off the bunny slopes. They are to flat and to crowded. I have taught about 20 people to ski, and a good green run is a better place to learn. One of the hardest things to learn is getting off the lift without taking everyone out with you.:) If you can do that you are half way there.

I mastered the the T-bar. I thought I would have a problem with that, but I did ok. I'm not much on heights. If I got on the lift I'd probably :bleh:

Never been snow skiing. Used to water ski, but can't anymore. My son wakeboards, and he can ski also, but he prefers the wakeboard. He wants to learn how to snowboard.

Don't know how to do either, and don't care to learn. LOL

The idea of standing on two flat boards and skimming over water or snow, both of which are hard when you hit them, does not appeal to me. ROTFL

I'm perfectly willing to drive the boat, or watch from the lodge, but that's it. I'll lend moral support to rest of you. ;)

Cross Country skied in high school on the team. Have water skied would rather ride on a tube and fly. Was on swim team all through my childhood. Started competitions when I was 6.

I can snow ski and waterski. I have barefoot water skied twice. Great fun until the time comes to fall. Water is hard at 55mph.:) Now snowboarding and wakeboarding, that's a whole different story.:heehee:
