Way to go David Gilliland!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You've got to love it when an unsponsored car wins :)
Congratulations to David Gilliland and his slow-but-loyal pit crew :beerbang:

I'll bet he gets a name sponsor now!

Great to see Jerry Nadeau on the tube too, and he is a Consultant for David!

Congratulations David Gilliland! :beerbang: :beerbang: :beerbang: :beerbang: :beerbang:

uh....boy do i pick a race to not watch...kicking myself in the ass now.

That was a great finish, as happy as I am for David, I'm equally sad for JJ.

I've watched David race the past few years on the west coast and knew he was good, but this was a shocker.

Any guesses to how long one of the big teams steps up to sign him. Hendrick, Roush, Gibbs or even Ganassi?

Yates better be busting his door down if the latest rumor is true about Sadler wanting to leave.

Congrats to David... But I don't think everyones knocking on his door because he won a race. I'll have to watch race highlights to see how he won, if he was up front all day or if it was pit strategty, that led him to the victory. None the less it's nice to see a fresh face in the winners circle.

You can throw out pit strategy on this one. Their crew was anything but good. At one point, he went from second to 19th because of pit stops. They were hoping that none of the front runners would pit there at the end because they would then be in trouble. David clearly was the best car last night. This time, it was car and driver alone with the pit crew sitting on the sidelines. :)

Then why even bother making a post stating an opinion if you don't have a clue what you're talking about?

Having watched the race I wonder "WHY" anyone would bother posting dumb irrelevant comments and not watched the race?
Did you atleast READ the POSTS first before offering your opinion?

Are you taking lessons from MW & Jimmy Spenser to make stupid comments?

I've watched David in the WEST Series for the past 3 years and he is pretty good, but I'll bet Austi Cameron wished he'd have gotten this chance as he continually whipped the boy. Sadly I think Austin's cancer, then his open heart surgery has killed any chance he had of getting a ride in NC.

Eagle, since you are a part of the western scene, maybe you can help me here. I've been doing some searching on David and wanted to know if he was related to Butch. I have found that Butch is indeed related, being his father, so I know now that David has racing in his blood. Now my question. Is David also known as Butch as well? The reason I ask is because I read an article during my search that talked about how Butch Gilliland and Tiger Woods were golfing teammates in high school. Now I know that Tiger couldn't have gone to school with the elder Gilliland because old Butch is 48 years old and Tiger is not quite that old yet. However, he very well could be the same age as the younger Gilliland.

Have you ever heard David being called Butch? Anyone...

Tiger Woods was born Dec. 30 1975, so I'd think he was to young for The elder Gilliland, but to old for David. Maybe there is an older brother in there?

Tiger went to HS at Western in Anaheim CA.

Tiger and David were golfing team mates in High School but they were never paired together. This was mentioned on the race last night for those that "watched" it. They didn't say if his nickname was Butch so I can't help you there...
