Labonte May Be Next Silly Season Casualty
Two-time Winston Cup champion Terry Labonte, who drives the No. 5 Kellogg's Chevrolet, wants a three-year contract extension from Hendrick Motorsports, but team owner Rick Hendrick may be offering only a one-year deal. Hendrick reportedly has plans to put his son, Busch driver Ricky Hendrick, in the car in 2004.(emphasis added)(Dallas News)(9-20-02)
if he doesnt give him the longer contract will he leave and go to another team or retire is the question.
