NASCAR Scene is reporting that Bill Weber and Allen Bestwick will make a switch in positions next year.

Jayski.com reports: "NASCAR on NBC announces Bill Weber and Allen Bestwick will switch roles next season, with Weber serving as the lead anchor in the both and Bestwick hosting the pre-race show."

I for one liked it when Bill Weber took over for Allen when he was injured.

N2, I wonder if that had any bearing on the switch?

I thought Bill Weber made the statement in that broadcast that he felt out of place in the booth!?!? After watching several of the races on ESPN Classic leading up to the showing of the movie 3 , I realized just how much I missed Ned Jarrett and Jerry Punch and those fellows in the broadcast booth. :(

I just hope they do away with the "thru the field" every half hour. It's nice to know where your driver is, but I feel we miss a lot of good stuff when they are showing me where the 15th place driver is and what he had to say prior to his last pitstop.
Twice per race would be enough for me.

Oh, thank God. I saw the title and thought they were having a sex change operation. What a relief after reading the post...

As to who is in the booth, I would be looking at someone to replace if they really wanted a good unit. What they have now is just irritating. I mean he can't even remember who is driving what car...

DW and Larry mac are a couple of ships fools.
Larry is the one that can't remember who is in what car!!!!!

I don'r like the idea even of this switch!!!!! Bill Weber is a total boor!!!!! :growl:

I would just rather see Allen stay right where he is..................in the booth!!!!! And that is how I see it!!! :D :beerbang:

I'd wish one of the two networks would put Marty Smith from NASCAR.COM on pit road. He is damn funny, young, and can kind of be on the level of the younger drivers on the circuit.

Sorry to hear about the switch, the less I hear from Bill Weber the better. Sorry, but I just find him annoying.

Thank goodness for that. I, for one, cannot stand Allen Bestwick and his baseball and basketball analogies. Too much of a class nerd, rather than a broadcaster. Why don't we in Aussieland export the one and only Mike Raymond to America. He has a lot of NASCAR sayings, which used to annoy Aussie viewers in the '70s, '80s and '90s.
