As a baby boomer a lot of us got married in the late 60's, even more in the 70's. Some, like me, more than once unfortunately. I recall going to weddings sometimes twice in one month back then.
Then in the 80's and continuing to present the weddings slowed and the funerals began. Grandparents, parents, aunts, uncles. More funerals then weddings.
Last Tuesday I learned the son of my cousin passed away at 31. He had has health issues all his life. I was planning on attending his funeral in Maryland this past Friday. On Wednesday I learned the son of a friend was killed in a car accident. 19 years old. No alcohol or drug use. So I cancelled going to Maryland went to a 19 year olds' funeral yesterday.
I'm looking forward to the wedding cycle starting again, when family and friends can get together for fun times.
Sorry for the rant and venting here.
