WTF is going on at Penske? Fuel pressure issues at Phoenix last held Brad back, but he still got a 5th. This week, the team can't get the tank in his NW car full, and then his CC decides to try and fix the issue with 17 to go. What the heck? Then AJ gets sidelined for 40 laps in the cup race with fuel pressure trouble, and Brad gets dumped out of second because his fuel pressure dropped like a rock on the restart. Of the drivers Tony had to battle on those restarts, Brad was the only one who actually caught Tony and got alongside him....when his pumps worked. It could have been a great 3 way battle at the end.

The issue seems to be so bad that people are speaking out in public. AJ on twitter. "not the luck hoped to have in vegas. Will look at some things back at the shop before the shellracingus 22 Dodge heads to Bristol. Not even sure what to say.... hey boss man...we do have bad luck..but we cant control everything. Ur wri crew and 22 crew have so much faith in u!".

Paul Wolfe "We've just got to figure out these problems we're having with the pumps," crew chief Paul Wolfe said. "You can't race for a championship this way; we're just going to have to go to work and figure it out. You keep putting Brad in position, he's doing his job, and we're letting him down on the other end there."

Tony's restarts and his foward bite from center off was on display again, picking up where he left off at the end of last year. Penske had dominate foward bite all last year, but starting during last years chase, Tony seemed to get off the corners as well or better. I'm still wondering about Addington feeding his future boss a little Penske secret.

If you're wondering what I mean by foward bite, watch Brad battle JJ at Phoenix. JJ gets in the corner better and beats Brad to the center, but Brad was tearing it up on exit. The same thing was happening this week when JJ was trying to catch Tony at the end. JJ would close on Tony until the apex, then Tony would just drive off hard while JJ gets sideways trying to keep up. When Brad was racing Tony for the lead, he was almost able to make the pass because he was matching Tony on exit, even when Brad was stuck on the bottom.

Tony's restarts also have JJ wondering what's going on. After the race, he said the team will have to look into what Tony has. It makes we wonder how long JJ and the rest will put up with getting beat by their own stuff.

That #14 car sure was diggin off the corner:D

Did you see the video from JJ's car? Tony gets on it right at the apex and pulls away right through the exit while JJ falls back a few car lengths. Then JJ would catch up, only to get burned on exit again. Tony's restarts have me scratching my head. It looked like he had traction control.

WTF is going on at Penske? 'EFI FUEL EFI FUEL..... You keep putting Brad in position, he's doing his job, and we're letting him down on the other end there."

TONY TONY TONY..... After the race, he said the team will have to look into what Tony has. It makes we wonder how long JJ and the rest will put up with getting beat by their own stuff.

EFI and FUEL related issues - New in the world of NASCAR. Things need to be worked out. It sucks but it's pretty much that way with any new technology in NASCAR. They'll eventually get things perfected and it'll become a non issue.

TONY - Jimmie only needs to look down between his legs to see what he's lacking. ;)

EFI made things in the tank MUCH easier on teams because there are electric pumps at each corner, but Penske has found a way to mess it up.

lol, but silly. I'm fairly sure JJ had newer tires and couldn't keep up while Tony just cruised. Don't you find it odd that Brad was able to catch and get inside Tony, and even pass him, while JJ couldn't even get his nose under Tony?

Checking that fuel system.....

Smoke in victory lane and it's still March.

Saw this elsewhere.....

42 of Stewart’s 45 Sprint Cup victories have come between May and November. (2 in March, 1 in April.)

Stewart is now just 1 victory behind 1956 and 1957 Sprint Cup champion Buck Baker for 14th on the all-time series win list.

Stewart has won 6 of the last 13 Sprint Cup races, and 4 of the last 7 races at intermediate-type ovals.

The issues we're seeing with the 2 and 22 are the downside of being a 2 car team with no other input from other teams ( well there's Robby Gordon  ) the Penske boys are on their own "figureing out ****" it's not a good situation to be in... I wish them luck.
Tony's always been a catfish and ran around on the bottom, he really knows how to get a car into a corner, rotate it and be on the gas before anyone else....my kinda driver not flashy, Butt Fast! I don't remember him ever starting a season of like this?

Does anyone else think that Mark Martin should stay in the 55? He seems to be doing pretty decent, I don't think yesterdays' bump coming off of turn 2 was his fault either. Jr seemed to get a good run and seemed to underestimate the closing rate.

He's running better than last year at Hendrick, but the season will wear on him.

He may be in shape but I don't see him keeping up this pace for the whole year.Last year at Hendrick he started off pretty good but kinda faded away didn't he?

Yeh he did, I'm not a fan of his by any means, but that car is quite competitive so far, I'd be curious what he could do with it for the entire season.
