What's going to be the big CFB in your area this weekend?

Who is going to upset who?

What's the final score of Tenn @ Florida going to be?

WOW, Ohio State is playing a in state team on a very semi neutral field?

Could be a upset in the making, Toledo whacked Colorado at home. Rockets 24-Ohio State 18.

As I sit here and type, those Gators are not rolling over Kiffin's Vols. 16 to 6 in the 3rd quarter. I'm pretty impressed with Tennessee, but I'm also aware that the Gators went into this game thinking they would trounce the Vols. Florida might get rolling in the 4th quarter, maybe even the last of the 3rd quarter, but again, this isn't the roll-over it was supposed to be.

Washington stuns No. 3 USC 16-13

Tenn 13 - Florida 23

Once again U.S.C. is exposed in the mighty powerful PAC RAT 10.

I always say it every year,

U.S.C. IS OVERATED...
OVERATED...
OVERATED!!!

TN really hung in there with Florida! They lost but haven't looked that good against Florida in years.

Ohio State won 38-0. They seemed a little angry over losing to U.S.C. in the last minute last week.

Toledo came in averaging 42.5 points a game. Their quarterback was averaging 437 total yards a game also. The Buckeyes were in his face the entire game. He never had a chance.

My second favorite team, Florida State, just crushed BYU last night as well.

A 54-28 win over a top 10 team, on the road even, is just what the Seminoles needed to get their confidence up. They were just so much faster and more athletic than BYU, that it shows them what they can accomplish if they play the right way.

How about Oklahoma's new young QB setting a record with 6 TD passes? And this replacing the passing genius Sam Bradford.

All of this just goes to show that ranking the teams early in the season, even before the season starts, is nothing but something to yak about. A few years ago when App State beat Michigan the first game of their seasons, Michigan was ranked 5th in the nation. That year they had the worst season of their history. Rankings only come from past years, not from reality. All rankings are good for is bragging rights. But when that top ranked opponent loses, those braggarts hang their heads. And after the season starts, teams will run up the score just so they impress those who do the ranking.

Another team that was OVERATED!!!

BYU, OVERATED!!!

And it really showed.

Really hard to say who is actually over rated. BYU had everyone thinking they would beat FSU and the all said that FSU would beat Miami. And Oklahoma to beat BYU. Missed all of those, but according to the rankings, that's what should have happened.

BYU with Bradford out took advantage of Oklahoma. Miami looks a lot better than they were supposed to be. BYU is good at the Moutnain West, and could be a number two team in the PAC 10. East coast and Mostly Southeast have faster and more talented players. Just ask Ohio State.

Florida and Texas are undoubtedly where they should be, 1 and 2.

The "pretenders", Oklahoma, FSU, and a bunch of others are second tier in comparison. Probably the best of the rest is Penn State. You can always count on Joe PA.

Little bit of baiting there? This coming from a women's basketball fan. You're like the rest of the experts who think they have a chrystal ball and can predict the future. I'm surprised your not a ND or USC homer as well. Oh wait, they have already lost a game. You're UT and UF teams have some big games ahead of them and IF they survive them, they will play for the championship. Then you can crow all you want.

At least they have a chance of surviving unlike some teams that lose the games they were supposed to win. And no, I'm not a ND or USC fan, but I was a Penn State fan before you knew that oklahoma even existed as a football team. For predictions, i can predict that Oklahoma will not go undefeated this year. :D

NC State beats Pitt
NC State beats Pitt
NC State beats Pitt

Oh and Wake, Clemson, Maryland and FSU all lose. They are all in our Division.
Even better unc-CH looks really bad in their loss. :D

And neither will Penn State. And I have to say that for 22 years I lived in Iowa and was damned glad to see that those Hawkeyes beat the snot out of the Nittany Lions.

I just don't understand why you are baiting me on this. But now that you have, let's try and keep track of "our" favorite teams and see how they end up at the end of the season and whether either of those top two teams will stay ahead of "our" favorites. At least mine will have the opportunity to play both of those teams this year, whereas your team has pretty much sealed it's deal to be a second tiered team.

I'm not sure I can do that this year.

Ohio State is pretty good and fairly consistent this year.

Florida State is maddeningly inconsistent though. They played very well against Miami and lost on the last play of the game, then damn near lost to East Carolina or somebody. Then they hammered BYU in Utah and then got punked by South Florida at home. So the question becomes 'are they as good as they looked in weeks 1 & 3 or as bad as they looked in weeks 2 & 4? The answer is "yes, they are that good and that bad. It depends upon which team shows up".

FSU almost managed to ruin a day in which Ohio State won big in a conference game and Penn State got embarrased at home on national tv.

It is 2 years in a row that Penn State got beat by the also ran team from Iowa. Paterno though has a way of always bringing his team back to play in and win a bowl game.

FSU, I think are overated and have seen better days. Florida now, I believe are the real thing and may again rule the world of College Ball. Texas is undoubtedly one good ball team.
