I bet that Maj, TRL and those that were there will give it a pretty good rating, but what about YOU??

8.93 stars! phoenominal finish. i was very happy to see sadler and the m and ms car in victory lane for the first time ever (officially) sadler is the only ford driver i like out there and i was very happy to see him edge out kahne.

The mid part was a little sleepy, it got slightly better towards the end. Great to see Sadler win and Kahne came on to barely miss the win again.

I give it a 6, typical cookie cutter.

yeah good point the middle was kinda weak i guess i was just rating the end cause that was really good.

I agree with Spok4. I lost interest. But was glad Elliott won.

Good finish. At least the last 4 or 5 laps was ok. Not over a 6.

I'm going with a weak 7. The race did get strung out after the first two cautions. But long green flag runs will do that when you have some real strong cars in the field. The ending was really great!! :D I was very torn between rooting for Kasey to pull off a Ricky Craven finish like Darlington last year and seeing Elliott Sadler get a good win for once!!! I'm not unhappy with the results.......either one of them tickled me to no end. :)

And I'm gonna disagree that it was a typical "cookie cutter".............I sure saw a lot of two wide racing and even some three wide. I thought "cookie cutters" didn't have that kind of racing. ^_^ But, what do you expect from me? :D I like the "cookie cutters". :)

5.2

Needs restrictor plate. Me like finish, but me also dont like Johnny Sauter interrupting with finish.

I'll give it a 7...no plates, nice finish, Jeff Gordon had a top 3.

On second thought...I'll give it a 7.5 ;)

I thought it only fair, so I'd give it a 5 if you don't count the last three laps. The last few laps had me on the edge of my seat and I'd have to give them a 10!

Well, I agree that the middle was almost putting me so sleep, but I ordered Pizza & that seemed to perk me up as well as the race! All things considered, I rate it a 7.

Sadler has helped put the color bach into M&Ms, Kasey will soon be winning, Jeff finished the best this season....what can I say.

I"m going to give it a strong 7. I think Texas is turning into a pretty good track with racing 2 and 3 wide. That could be why there wasn't so many cautions which makes most people think it boring. I like the racing, don't need crashes to get me excited. JMO

I also liked the side by side racing. Passing high is getting to be a lost art in our sport and there was plenty of that at Texas on sunday. :)

It looked to me as if Sadler was trying to pick up a little draft from Sauter as they came through the fourth turn, but nearly screwed himself.
Sauter was out of the racing groove and down to the inside close to the white line.

I don't feel Sauter did anything wrong so put one in the plus column for him. WAIT A MINUTE !!!!!!! He didn't wreck anybody either. Okay????
So maybe put two in the plus column, but he's still in the red and owes a few.

The Whiz-rate on the Texas"I think I'm Lowe's Motor Speedway but I'm in Texas" race is six point five.

YAWN !!!!!! (stretch) YAWN !!!!!!

Thank goodness some real racing is coming up, MARTINSVILLE !!!!! Between Busch, Kane, JGordon, Kenseth and Stewart, it should be a barn burner.

Amen to that brother! I'm not going to Martinsville again this year, but I am really looking forward to watching the race on TV. That should be awesome as usual :salute:

I really enjoyed the race. Love the tension when they were 3 wide and even had two grooves working.
Wreckin and crashes scare the heck outta me and I can do without them.
I like the close racin and rubbin and a little bumping.
At least no one deliberately spun out, (that we know about) LOL
I gotta give it a strong 7 or a mild 8. :cuckoo:

Well, now that we're virtually done rating it, does it deserve it a second date?

I give it a 6....

Decent racing for the most part..

...liked the side by stuff, except that none of it happened to the lead car until the last 100 yards....

(ok not really, true, but it felt that way....)

I suppose a 2nd date would be alright for Texas, but not at the expense of Martinsville or another real track.

Exactly!!

I'd rate the race an 8,NASCAR does need to cut down on the number of late-race caution laps,They ran too many at Texas(cost Kasey the win) and They did the same thing at Bristol, something needs to be done about the matter IMHO,it can and sometimes does affect the outcome of a race. ;)

IMHO,no Texas desn't need another date, especially if it comes at the cost of a road course, short track or a traditional 1.0-1.366 mile oval track ;)

Has ANyone else heard that NASCAR is thinking of doing away with The Bud Shootout and the Nextel Cup All-Star event so as to make more dates available for yet more cookie-cutter track events?I hope this doesn't happen, but wouldn't surprise Me at all ;)

Well, I will have to rate the race a strong 8 :) !!! As I have said before, the television broadcast DOES NOT show you everything that is happening during the race! When they show you something happening with cars in the front, you don't get to see what is happening in the middle on back!

Oh, and as for Harvick calling Jeff Gordon a 'dip-sh#t', well he needs to remember who was a lead lap car and who was a lap or more down! ;)

I'll rate the Cup race a 7. There was some good racing back in the pack, but the only reason there was an exicting finish was circumstance.

The Busch race exactly the opposite - good racing most of the day but the finish wasn't exciting.

By the way, I was sitting in row 1 and came away with tire rubber on my arms.

It was nice to meet Maj Saturday. I've got some pictures I'll post a link to in another thread.

One good lap does not make a good race.....................
