Well, I'm stuck with Standard Definition television....

This year just keeps getting better and better. Whatever possessions of mine haven't been stolen just don't work anymore.

Maybe a good Martinsville hot dog will make make those worries go away.

Things will be fine. Good news is, when I end up moving again, I have less **** to pack. LOL, got enough to fit in a sedan now. I wish I could go in a time machine and go back to when I was 16 when I didn't have to be an adult. LOL. The last 10 months have been ****** dreadful. I don't even have a cell phone right now because that broke.

At least I've got some great friends and I wouldn't trade what I'm doing now in terms of work for anything in the world.

I didnt have a cell phone till I was 45 years old, believe me, your friends are much more valuable IMO

hows the intrepid working out?

Long story. Track owner legally stole that from me back in June - which is why I left Callaway and stayed up in Maryland for a good part of the summer. Didn't want to discuss it then because I didn't want my name attached to anything when everything started coming out.

As I've said before, there's a difference between a "redneck" and southern/country people. People who aspire to be rednecks and take pride in that will never make anything of themselves or their lives and the only way they can be content with the misery they create for themselves is to cut down other people with words and actions.

legally stole????

I'm not going to get in to it. He can have the 16 mpg piece of ****. We all have to answer for our life choices one day. That neck has made millions by screwing everyone out of everything he can get.

I'd rather be broke than live a good life by ****** everyone else.

learning life's lessons can be hard sometimes. a lot of older and wiser comes from "painful learning experiences". I bought an in pieces Austin Healy 100-4 at your age..Gave the dude the money..got the oh yeah title, motor, and tranny and the rest of the parts are in a garage, Ill get them to you tomorrow..I am still waiting for tomorrow.

My dad got screwed out of a boat hull by his "friend" years ago, in that same sorta fashion.. Sucks.

The television itself isn't a big deal since I have SD cable. Unfortunately, DIRECTV keeps removing channels from the SD Lineup and making them HD only. I already have no plans on paying extra each month for an HD receiver. Just the latest freaking thing to quit working.

That sucks.

I bought the Intrepid off a mechanic. This was when I was living at the racetrack. Track owner commented about wanting the car because he wanted to build a Street Stock out of it. When that con man started talking about that, I should have loaded it up with fuel and hauled ass to Baltimore.

Bought is when you have a bill of sale and a clear title in your hand and the seller has full price in his. If you are paying for it on the payment plan from an individual, you better make sure the title is in his name without a lien, and the payment plan is in writing and you get a receipt for every cent you pay the man. Working for someone as a way to own something almost never works, you got your ying yang hanging out the whole time, and nothing to show you have an agreement. Been there done that. Don't buy property or a vehicle on contract for deed, you can pay every payment, but if the seller doesn't pay the mortgage or loan company, your screwed.

I have Directv too with a standard receiver. I plan on moving up to a better receiver when I can afford it.

DIRECTV charges $25/month for HD. As if that's not bad enough, they drop channels from the SD lineup all the time. Every week, they drop more and more channels. Half their channels aren't even in HD anyways and many of the ones that are don't actually air HD programming. I've looked in to what other cable companies offer for if I move back to the city and DIRECTV's the only one that charges extra for HD. They're cheap for the first three months and affordable for the first year, then they nickel and dime you to death.

I wouldn't be surprised if you had to have HD service to get Sunday Ticket next year. They already cut the channel that shows all the games at once from SD and they made damn sure you have to pay out of your ass to get Red Zone. Those are some smart *************.

TWC, on the other hand, regularly increases your bill, with or without notification. I got a letter last month alerting me to expect an increase on my next bill because the "introductory rate was about to expire." Introductory rate?!! I've been with TWC for 14 years. WTF?

Maybe you need to look at switching providers? At the very least you'll get a year worth of everything for a greatly reduced rate and then go to the standard charges for another year. After that, switch again.

DirecTV charges an extra $25/month for HD? That's insane. When I left DirecTV for Dish Network it was far cheaper than that.

we left DTV for uverse and they didn't even care.

I probably should have been more specific. I didn't mean that DirecTV would offer that. They don't care about existing customers but a new provider does. I switched from DirecTV to DISH and got all kinds of perks. It'll be two years soon. I made the right choice.

our DVR with uverse was free no strings attached :) Same with the wireless receiver.
I've been bugging AT&T to finish the install on my street. It is available at the top of my street but not down at my end, even though they've already torn up the sidewalks to lay fiber optic cable.
