If this were to appeal to what are already race fans, your list is as good as any.

If it's to appeal to new fans, I'll go.....

For any individual would have a long-term effect on the sport's 'appeal', he or she must quickly develop into a top 15 stock car driver. That probably means spending most of the first season at the Xfinity level. That's not going to pull many new fans, at least not until / if the newbie moves up.

I hate to go there, but anybody from outside would just be Danica all over again.

If we're going that route, drop any of them for Patrick Dempsey. At least he already knows his way around the garage.

There must be some other celebs that already have some basic racing skills. Who are today's Newmans and McQueens and Garners?

Frankie Munez tried...but I think he suffered some head injuries and gave it up. I read he no longer even remembers being on Malcolm in the Middle

I like most of the other drivers mentioned where they race, and I like NASCAR too. I don't want one series poaching all the best talent and personalities. Maybe when Alonso gets sick of being in third rate cars in F1, that would be cool.

I do wish there could be more occasional mingling between different series, but it is too specialized at this point to allow for much of that.
 
NASCAR should hold an exhibition race. Put the top F1 drivers in Penske, HMS, JGR equipment, and put the top nascar drivers in FRM equipment, and let's see how everyone does. Maybe they could hold it at the Glen so everyone is familiar with it, or Daytona Road Course.

I've always said I'd like to see Sebastien Loeb in a stock car. That guy's car control is amazing.

Road course racers, even with minimal stock car experience and lesser equipment (JPM, Ambrose) can run up front on road courses. That would be a good race on an oval, but the F1 drivers would clean up on a road course.

To have a true road course test, the F-1 ers would have to race in a Nascar, and then the the Nascariens would have to race in F-1 cars..:D

Against most probably yes. I still think the Busch brothers, Allmendinger, and maybe Logano would give them a run for their money on a road course even in lesser equipment though.
 
3000 plus pound cars on 10” tires?

It might take a lap or two for Fernando et al to acclimatize.
