What a fabulous picture

Pictures like this are great but for the majority of people who see them, they don't have any idea just how vast the image it and just how small humanity is. For instance, most everyone knows that light from the sun takes about 9 minutes to reach the Earth, but how many know that the original light energy that reaches the Earth actually takes well over 100,000 years to reach us. The protons bounce around inside the Sun for over 100,000 years before they reach the outer core and are released.
 
I really like the picture it's beautiful, but I graduated from college many many years ago and have too few brain cells left to think about the cause and effect. :D
