What a way to start 2010

One of the first crimes committed in Dallas in 2010 was a particularly gruesome act of family violence, according to police.


Kerri Lyn Smith About midnight on New Year's Eve, Kerri Lyn Smith, 41, was kissing her boyfriend of four years in Far North Dallas when Smith bit the man's bottom lip and tore it off his face, according to police documents.

The man was able to push Smith away and call 911. He told officers Smith bit him suddenly and began yelling at him. It's unclear what would have prompted Smith to do such a thing.

Police officers called to the 18900 block of Lina Street near Rosemeade Parkway and the Dallas North Tollway saw part of the lip on the ground, police documents said.

The man, who has a 2-year-old son with Smith, told police he did not want to press charges. Officers arrested her anyway on a charge of aggravated assault/family violence.

The man was treated at a Plano hospital.

Reminds me of this episode of Cops I saw.

I forgot where it was at, but the officers were responding to a domestic violence call. When they arrived they found the woman with bruises on her face, and blood coming from her mouth. The man also had a large amount of blood going down his leg from under his boxer shorts.

Turns out that he was sitting on top of her chest, and she was giving him oral sex. At some point she bit hard into his testicle, and as he tried to pull away she held on and ripped it off. At this point they started hitting each other.

The man wasn't aware he was short a body part, and the police found the missing testicle under a picture frame that had fallen off the wall during the fight. The episode ended with him being put into an ambulance, and saying that he didn't want to press charges.
