What about those Hendrick engines?

Hendrick engines didn't make it the whole race last fall at Talladega. Wonder if they'll back off the horsepower - or keep some of the horses and hope they last?

i believe all engines had the same problem and i think it was determined it was a bad bunch of parts, someone correct me if im wrong, so i would assume they got everything fixed

assumptions = disaster.

Hendrick restrictor plate engines haven't seen 500 miles since the race they all let go last fall. I'll be interested to see if they back it down on HP or go for broke and try to compete with RCR and DEI.

I think that they will go all out, considering how they ended up in the points at the end of the last year, they can rebound in other words. :salute:

Good point, it's early in the season so they could rebound from a DNF.

Actually I guess my previous statement about Hendrick plate engines not seeing 500 miles since last fall's Talladega race would be incorrect. Since they all blew at that track, Hendrick plate engines haven't seen 500 miles since last spring's Talladega race. :(

I am not very 'Chevliterate'.It will be interesting to see if the competition----especially among fellow Chevy teams---can close the gap on D.E.I/R.C.R though.

On the brighter side of the world,it is no secret that Jack Roush has steadily made progress towards catching up with those guys.Bet the farm recent Roush R&D dollars have been spent on acheiving this goal.

But back to your question:I would be very surprised to see Hendrick engines fail at Dega.That program just isnt likely to let it happen again.Another R&D program that is up to the challenge.

:salute:

Just remember Rusty's comments that Nascar will be "looking" this time! :rolleyes:

Mad_Hatter, I believe that the Daytona "500" is since then :D

Talladega race with probs was traced back to a certain part on all engines that was found AND corrected.

I think that the other drivers will make a pact that whoever pulls out of line to pass a DEI/RCR car near the end, they will also pull out and go with them, otherwise it's the same ol' song and dance. Mikey's blockfest will get him turned around this time.

Yes, but it was more like the Daytona 256 or something like that. They barely made it past halfway, so it can't be based on that. I do believe it was a bad bunch of parts though, and they don't have a hisory of engines going bad at restrictor plate tracks except for that so im hoping all goes well.

i think that Hendrick has spent a lot of time and money making sure the engines will last this time... i hope so, i like a lot of Hendrick racers..

How about those Hendrick engines you ask? I hope they do a repeat of the fall race at Tally. I'd be happy. :D
