OK it rained out qualifying in Richmond,

Interesting. They didn't line 'em up on points. Or so it seems.
The way I understand it --- no practice, line up on points.
They had some practice, so use the practice speed.

And has been since they started 'knock out' qualifying. They still use owner points if practice is rained out.

The thing that annoyed me was when I learned the 98 got KO'd from the lineup instead of the 93, as my (sadly incorrect/outdated) understanding was that DNQs were still based on OP and race attempts, even for open teams.
