The other was moved to the Podium and this one will probably suffer the same fate. Too bad the subject can't be discussed without that being the result.

I wonder how these protests are working out for everyone? Last I was reading on here, it was brought up how some of these protest could be doing more harm than good. That was rebuffed by saying that these people are just trying to get their point across and stopping traffic hurts nobody. It's simply an inconvenience.

Then I read this.

Apparently there are ramifications by doing these illegal protests. Maybe, just maybe, trying to get a point across is at the expense of the health and well being of others. Well, all's well that ends well..... Right?

They should be spending the time talking to people who have the possibility to make a change.Instead of pissing off many people by blocking traffic.Plus they need to quit using the lie of hands up don't shoot. It was proven that didn't happen.

In my opinion It's mostly sheep following troublemakers. When It's illegal, arrest them, charge them and let them face the consequences of their actions.

Saw an entertaining video the other day with a reporter talking to some of the protesters. Ones that were staging a Die-In Protest. That is the type of protest where the protester lays down on the ground and pretends to be dead. Only, in this case, it seemed that many of the 'dead' protesters couldn't refrain from using their smart phones to take selfies and the like so that they could send them to their friends on Twitter. Kinda defeats the whole purpose, don't you think? Anyhow, when questioned by the reporter as to what they were actually protesting for, many did not know the facts or refused to talk. o_O

I've seen some of those interviews. When asked why they're there they get an even more dazed and confused look on their faces than usual.

LMAO, is anyone surprised about that. These protester most generally don't have a clue. They say it's their right to protest. They don't realize that they are infringing on my right to make a living.

Saw the same thing during the Ice Bucket challenge fad. What is ALS? Hadn't a clue ... but they got their video on Facebook, that's all that mattered.
True, but at least some of that raised money for a good cause. Nothing good is coming from these protests

A 22-year-old demonstrator has been accused of punching two police officers during last week’s protests of a Staten Island grand jury’s decision to not indict a police officer in the chokehold death of Eric Garner. Yotameli Sayer faces charges of resisting arrest, obstructing governmental administration, disorderly conduct and multiple counts of assault after officers in Union Square and at the Staten Island Ferry terminal in lower Manhattan were both sucker-punched Thursday night, authorities say. Assaulting a cop can get you about 2 to 6 years in the pen, not a good night for this clown

Most of these protesters seem to be "me too" - they want to be seen as "hip" or "with it" or whatever kids call it these days. I agree that for many of them it is just a Facebook opportunity.
I thought it was funny when the Government employees did their walkout / protest last Friday, and some news reporters filmed it all being staged and posed...

Remember the "Occupy Wall Street" protests a couple summers ago? Particularly when they spread to other cities and towns? People staged an "Occupy" protest in our town, and one of the local TV news reporters covered it. I laughed when he asked a couple of the lead protesters to explain what the protest was, and how it related to our town... they just stammered and spouted some incomprehensible stuff. (I happened to be there on business - not as part of the protest.) The piece never aired. Turned out, according to that reporter's Facebook postings, he checked into the backgrounds of those leaders and found they were trust fund babies - didn't do much except drink all day, and so weren't very credible representatives.
