Last july I had a crown put on. Friday night while I was eating soft Colby cheese, I felt something hard in my food.My crown came off! It isn't even a year.I called dentist several times and still no call back.Thank God I didn't swallow it.I have it in a napkin.Has anyone of y'all ever had or heard of something like this happening while eating soft food? Is this normal for a crown?

I've had a temporary crown fall off, but never a permanent one.

got crown put back on yesterday evening.here's what happened.dentist switched his sealents to one he thought was better. turned out he had to replace several other patient's crowns too. i just hope this doesn't happen again.not to mention the novacane didn't work on me and i felt everything! when the assistant shot cold water into the open area i screamed and startled her.

Last time I had a permanent crown put on, the doc told me he'd rather turst me if the bite was right rather than that little piece of paper. No novacaine. No problem though, except fro when he blew the air on to dry the stub off so the glue would stick. BOING! About jumped out of my seat.
