What Do You See?

looks to me like the guy taking the picture is in the wrong lane.:)

U bored today Bobby ?....................................... no Fords to fix or what :D
I guess I am kinda bored. The Mustang is finished and we haven't started on the other cars yet :(
I wanted to adjust the valves in my truck and re-tune the engine but it's windy and dusty outside.

Is that a train coming from the right hand side and the light is green

They are stopped at a green light or what ? dammit just tell us
You're no fun.
Across the street, partially obstructed by the trees is a Federal, model 5, "birdhouse"-style, civil air raid siren. #222 of 225 within L.A. City limits. Originally used during WWII, but this one is more likely a cold war era siren. They were test sounded at 10am on the last Friday of every month. As a grade-schooler, we were to duck and cover at the sound of the siren.

.012"
Amazing camshaft in this engine. Over 500 ft. lbs. of torque. Shifts at 6,000. Sounds like a symphony.

Pretty snug lash isnt it ? you running rollers or flat tappet ?
I used to run the old Duntov 30-30 cams in small block chevy ..................... I loved those things but I imagine there are lots better options now. the duntov lashed out at .030

What do you see out of the ordinary in this photo?
That siren looks massive...

What do you see in this pic? It was used by a seller on TradeMe which is like Ebay to sell her dress

Custom grind, solid, flat tappet cam .553/.575, 231/241 @.050 on 108LSA

Generally, cam card specs are listed @.050 tappet lift. This measure will be lower than "advertised" duration.

Im more used to duration numbers in the 280 range, thats the advertised number like you said

Cam manufacturers list their "advertised" duration differently. Some use @.004 cam lift, some use @.006 cam lift.
At .004" my cam would have 288/323 duration.
I think they use @.050 because it also gives an indication of lobe profile.
If everyone understood cams, we'd all be master engine builders :D

Always have to be careful whats in the background of your pix....can be emBARE ASSing....
