What do you think of this excerpt from Bill Elliott's book

I think he has a good chance of getting sued by NASCAR. He's speaking his mind about safety but when you do that I hope he has done all his homework.

Is this true? "As of this writing, there is no rule requiring drivers even to wear gloves, fireproof or otherwise." It seems inconceivable to me.

I'm sure I'll read the book.
 
That's probably going to create a lot of steam boring from ears in Daytona Beach.
 
I was watching a TV show, and i think it was Mike Helton said that while there is no rule were it says you have to wear the safty gear, they said it guys showed up on Sunday is t-shirts and blue jeans it would be added then.
