According to observers this is what happened: On the track, Bliss was a couple of laps down and Stewart was the race leader when a caution flag came out. Stewart was coming up on Bliss, and Bliss waved him to pass on the inside, a wave that Stewart apparently missed. When Bliss held his high line, Stewart angrily popped him. That angered Bliss, who popped him back. The two traded a few more bumps and obscene gestures before the race resumed. After the race, Stewart waited in Bliss' trailer to talk with him. The exchange became heated, and Stewart punched Bliss, wrestled him to the floor of the trailer and threw at least three more punches, according to witnesses

I'm sure it was just a racing incident.....

He was just rubbin his knuckles against Mike's face. And son, rubbin's racing...

Tony's Back, What a "nuckle head"
I believe the term Tony used was "hammerhead"

Man, you Chevy boys better turn a blind eye to whatever Tony does.... ;)

I have a feeling he's gonna be the only driver in that camp thats going to be able to actually
COMPETE with Biffle and Busch next year. And I AM sober and AM serious ,dude.

I know people have to go through tough times....do things they really don't want to. It might be something your job requires you to do, a family issue, or something as extreme as wearing an avatar that looks like dried bird crap on the windsheild of a '68 Camaro. Its best just left alone and not asked about.......

:D

I do believe Jim Hunter has heard what our buddy Mike Mulhern disclosed. Did Mr. Hunter not say something to the effect "Well you know what happens in the garage area when the story of what went on is exchanged between many different people" Pretty much the snow ball effect. I am sure what took place was a Robby Gordon vs. Tony Stewart at Daytona type incident. If it happened in the teams trailer allow the teams to take care of it.

and sick.......................... :p

I honestly couldn't care if it happened.....but I just wanted to hear the "Will NASCAR be consistant dishing out punishment" thing again...a la the Jimmy Spencer suspension when he smacked Kurtsie and got sat down for a race.

Good point. My opinion would be IF it verifiably occured and was the same type deal..then hell yeah, do the same exact thing to Stewart that was done to Spencer.

There will be no punishment. This is not the same. This incident did not take place in the public view. This is an internal matter and should be handled as such. If more drivers did this the racing would benefit. As after the beat down it's over and done and the fellows can move on.

The way Jim Hunter was talking yesterday, the story had been told, and re-told until it was unrecognizable. And everytime it was re-told, the scuffle got bigger.

Dried bird crap on any part of any Camaro would be an improvement. Hides the Bond-O.

:p

I don't believe anything will happen to Stewart being it was an inside incident unless Bliss is sporting a black eye and pushes the issue. Not that there shouldn't be some type of punishment. Looks to me like Stewart should have been confronting Nemechek instead. B) Nice avatar bo!

Agreed, on track incidents one thing, in the hauler off the track personal.

Just like tell a person the truth, and by the time they all tell another and another and another, it changes with each telling.
