What happened to Jeff Gordon?

I just got home from work and I saw on nascar.com that he finished in 36th place off of the track. What happened?

wreck I thought it looked like dave blaney hit him and knocked him in the wall. But he said it was his fault.

Ouch, gets Dale Earnhardt Jr back to 2nd place. I hope Jeff can recover and help make this a close fight for the title again.

Just one of them ol' racin' deals. He checked up and got tagged from behind. His car sucked anyhow, so they won't be bringing it to Indy!

It happened on lap 125,right after a re-start,Jeff Gordon checked up for several cars in front of the #24 & #77 Dave Blaney didn't check up & plowed up the #24's rear-end sending Jeff into the wall.Nobody's fault from what I could see.
The #24 was towed back to the garage & Jeff re-entered the race around lap 165(-40 laps down),don't know what happened after that,the announcers(as usual)didn't mention when Jeff went back off track,however,Jeff was credited with 155 laps completed,so He must have went off track around lap 195,from what I can surmise.
