What has Shanahan accomplished in Washington?

I don't understand Why Rex Grossman is a starter in the NFL, HE showed that in Chicago.

What was Gibbs record when he came back?

30-34, however Washington made two playoff appearances under Gibbs' four year tenure losing to the NFL referees in the 2006 NFC Divisional playoff game against the Seattle Seachickens and losing to the Seattle Seachickens in 2008 in a Wild Card Playoff.

As a big Bears fan, I never liked Rex, but one thing he did was to lead the Bears to a Super Bowl appearance. Blaming him for the ills of the Redskins is just dreaming. It doesn't matter who the QB is if the team is good. And winning the big game doesn't make the winning QB great either. I mean, will Trent Dilfer ever see the front door of the HOF? Will Jim McMahon? And why does it take a SB win to make the QB great? Does anyone think that Dan Marino was a dud?

The Redskins have more problems than QB.

Didn't Rex share the season with someone else?

Offensive line was the problem. Everytime McNabb got the ball, he was on the run and ended up sacked by three or four players.

The issue was right after he had a really good day, by all standards (2 touchdowns, 250+ yards or something, 0 INT), he was benched for Grossman and the field goal kicker who missed two chip shot field goals and an extra point was still on the team. The punter was also fired that day. Shanahan's way of telling everyone he's in charge.

The problem was he was benching and firing the wrong players. Instead of firing the players who are consistently a problem (Haynesworthless, Gano), he's getting rid of a future Hall of Fame QB and a punter. Way to go Shanny.

It takes an elite QB in this era to make it to the Bowl, show me a team without an exceptional QB that has a chance at playing in this years' Superbowl? Washingotn has no one that can fill those shoes, they need to draft a great QB and build a team around him.

Thay would be Mark Sanchez. He certainly isn't elite, but that defense and running game could certainly be enough to get them a title.

That is well put Buckaroo. Dan Marino is the first person I think of when I hear someone say "Well yeah, so and so was good but he never won a Super Bowl". Trent Dilfer won a freaking Super Bowl, for goodness sake! Is that really the measuring stick you want to use? Dan Marino is, in my opinion, one of the two or three greatest quarterbacks I ever saw. He was head and shoulders above Brett Favre. Favre won a Super Bowl but also is the career leader in interceptions and is the runaway career leader in interceptions that just killed his team at the most critical time possible.

No way the Jets make it, they have way too many issues, The Pats would embarass them .... again in the AFC playoffs.

I disagree. I think you can win the Super Bowl with a second-tier QB. Eli Manning certainly isn't an elite QB.

The Redskins have a powerful running game with Ryan Torian and the defense is solid.

The Redskins lost the Tampa Bay game because of TWO missed field goals that any other kicker in the NFL would've made. Graham Gano misses a lot of field goals, has all year and its cost the Redskins several games this year. But, he's still on the payroll.

Fat Albert's still on the payroll. Rex Grossman, who blew the Cowboys game and blew a game earlier this year where he was put in *because he knows the two-minute drill better than McNabb*.

Kyle Shanahan's an idiot. THE only reason he's there is because of Mike Shanahan and he will never leave as long as Mike Shanahan's in town.

The decisions that Mike and his idiot son Kyle have made have hurt the Redskins. Jim Zorn was never given a chance. And there was no way Jason Campbell could improve when he was having to learn a different offense every single year.

The Redskins have way too many issues and they start at the owner's suite in Ashburn. Snottie's got to go, the Redskins will never be contenders as long as he's there.

Everytime the Redskins make the playoffs or show significant improvement late in the season, Snottie fires the whole team.
