I've been watching a lot of movies via Netflix as well as other sources over the internet lately and as such, I've seen some very good older movies. One of the latest I watched was "Murder in the First" with Kevin Bacon and Christian Slater. The movie is based on a real life story though other than the names and a few places, it really doesn't follow what happened. As such, it is a work of fiction, but a very good movie with a great performance by Bacon.

For some reason, I've been watching "The Band of Brothers" series again. Each time I watch it, I learn more. Another of the movies I saw recently was "Nothing But the Truth" based on the idea of a reporter "outing" a CIA opperative. Kate Beckensale plays a reporter from a big DC newspaper that names a female as an overt CIA officer. Of course the movie is based on the outing of Valarie Plame, though other than a CIA officer being outed, the rest is again total fiction. Good movie.

Triassic Attack but I had a whole thread about that train wreck:rolleyes:

I watched Meskada last night and I was underwhelmed.

It starred Nick Stahl and Rachel Nichols. I'd never heard of it before, but I watched it because Rachel Nichols was in it. She plays the newest member of the team on Criminal Minds. She is much better looking on the show than she was in the movie. She has dark hair for the movie, which made sense because it was a pretty dark movie. Hotter and blonder would have seemed out of place. There aren't too many attractive people in the film and Nick Stahl is just goofy looking and hard to take seriously in a role like that. His look was perfect for a movie like Bully, but just doesn't lend itself to a role like the detective in Meskada.

I really don't like movies that don't end well, or have an ending that seems unresolved.

I saw "Hop" last Friday.

Before that, "Megamind".

Before that, "Toy Story 3".

Before that, "Oceans".

Before that, "Alvin and the Chipmunks 3".

Before that, "Shrek 4".

Really.

I get to watch NASCAR and NFL on Sundays. Pretty good trade-off.

Two bits says that I watch more movies than you! In fact, I'll bet four bits that I watch more movies than anyone else on this forum. The ONLY thing I watch on regular TV is the local and national news and NCIS when it isn't a re-run. Then I switch to my Roku and watch movies, not limited to Netflix. Pub-D-Hub and inmoo are two pretty good channels for free movies. I might even see if there is something of interest on AMC or TMC. And at the present, I'm watching the Band of Brothers for the umptenth time and still enjoy it.
