WHAT MAKES NASCAR THE BEST SPORT.

I have been a nascar fan forever and I guess you could say that I like it more then any other. I would like to know why you think it is the best.

thankyou

To me, first and foremost, it's the drivers. The fact that we can get to know them as human beings makes the sport irresistible.

F1, CART, even IRL(to a certain extent), don't seem to be as personable.

I agree with TRL. My experiences last year at Fontana were memorable.
For me, that is. LOL Hugs from drivers, pics, and then watching very exciting races! NASCAR has it all for me! And the best part is, if I cannot be there in person, they bring it into my living room for me. (Of course, they could leave out a buncha commercials, ) LOL
My list of fav drivers has grown from one or two to lots!!!! LOL
And I love the trucks too!! :pbjtime:

The history of the sport and the progression of the state of the art. Plus the drivers. And the skill and danger. The closeness of the team members.

In short, everything. :D

The thrill of the race, the sound, the history, the great personalities, and even the controversy.

Most of all, at this time, JEFF GORDON!

Maybe it is the action of the sport, the wrecks and collisions its a man's sport and no one can take that away.

The drivers are TV stars. There's no more action then on most local tracks on Saturday night. And even at truck and some Bush races, the stands are nearly empty. But the Cup guys are idolized. They are the stars.

And I don't know why. They all put their pants on one leg at the time like the rest of us. :D

I'm not sure since I live in Los Angeles, CA.......but, Cutie, who grew up in Ft Lauderdale thinks Homestead is about 20 or 30 miles from there!! You would have to wait til the very last race of the season, but it's a big one!! :D

Actually, she just looked it up on Map Quest........it's 63 miles away. Just over an hour!! Still close enough for a Cup race!! :)

Thanks a lot De_Wrangler_2, A friend had told me about Homestead but I wasn't sure how long it would take. Would you know the date of the race that is held at the track? Remembering the dates of my trip are Feb. 7-11.

Thanks again for helping me out.

In the old days of nascar what turned me on in the sport was it was man to man no refs,no umpires just straight up racing with no outside help from bad calls, umps on the take you get the idea. back then the only to honest sports in my eyes was golf and auto racing

Of course thats changed a lil with the two and three car racing teams thats my take on the subject later........... ty

The final race of the season (Homestead/Miami) is scheduled for November 20, 2005 this year!! Plenty of time to get a ticket!! :D

Oh, and you don't have to type out the whole "DE_Wrangler_2"..........DE or DEW is plenty. Most know me by that here. Wait till the season starts in a few weeks......you'll proabably see a lot that!! Some good, but a little more not so good!! I don't necessarily go along with the grain when it comes to racing. :)

Hers's a website that you may find helpful, Daniel. If not now, then in the future. It shows you track locations, then gives you their home page to get schedules. Check it out.
