Hi everyone what races or racetracks would you most like to go to?

The race i'd most like to go and see someday is the indy 500.

But other tracks and races i'd like to go and see are talladega texas las vegas and a few other tracks.

I know i'd also like to go to winchester that's in indiana salem which is also in indiana and farmer's city.

1 of my uncles and aunt's went to texas cause his wife my aunt has family down there so they went to see her family and they also had tickets to the race. They went to the first ever fall race there in 2005 which carl edwards won. They sat on the backstretch i think.

The ones I'd like to go to are Daytona (for the 500), Talladega, and Dover.

bristol (anywhere frontstraight), infineon (up on the turn 2 hill), watkins (halfway between the last turn and flagstand). Indy would be on there, but those pit row grandstands are a no-thank-you. daytona and 'dega are too big for me. and the coke 600.

However, hopefully in late may next year, I MIGHT get to go to michigan int'l speedway, as a team member/competitor.

I guess I'd like to experience Taladega at least once. Been to the Daytona 500 and didn't care so much for watching the race because other than when they were on the back stretch, couldn't see much of it, and standing for the entire race...? I supposed that Taladega would be much the same, but it's the atmosphere, the smell of the gas, etc. that would be what I would like to experience. As for the tracks that I would go again and again, Martinsville, Bristol and Richmond would be right at the top. Darlington is another track that I'd like to watch a race.

Bristol and Darlington would top my list. Richmond would be cool too.

Charlotte, Bristol, Richmond, and Darlington.
North Wilkesboro was one of my favorites.

Least favorite, Daytona, Sonoma, and Watkins Glen.

Although most of these aren't Nascar tracks or races, I've kind of had a list of races that every race fan should attend in their life time. Some of these I have, some I haven't and they're on my dream list.

Chili Bowl. 5 solid days of the best midget racing in the country, all indoors
Indy 500
Daytona 500
World 100
Knoxville Sprint Car Nationals
Monaco Grand Prix
USAC 4 Crown Nationals

Like I said, not many Nascar events in the list, but all killer events that one should attend at least once in their lifetime....and only one of which I've been to.

I'd like to go to Charlotte (both the big track and the dragstrip), Pocono, Watkins Glen, Pomona, Rockingham and Maple Grove.

Bristol and Darlington would top my list. Richmond would be cool too.

Richmond is amazing.

Bristol or Dover

Dover, like I've said before, is hit or miss. I would've loved to be at this year's race. However, last year's race sucked.

I forgot to add Darlington to my list. We stopped by and saw the track on a mini-tour coming back from Myrtle Beach last year.

Daytona, nuff said.
My seats were on the second level, front row and slightly to the left of the flag stand. Gave them up in 03. Middle of pit road and the Jumbotron straight ahead.
First time a short track racer walks out and sees the track there's only two words you can say, Holy chit!:D

I think just once, I'd like to experience Daytona and Talladega. Then I'd like to go to Charlotte, Bristol, Martinsville, Richmond .... oh man, there's too many to list. Charlotte just might be doable since my daughter's SIL lives in Mooresville and we can crash at her place. :)

We had a advantage, one of the guys sister has a beach front time share at the Maverick, right on Atlantic ave, just over the line in Ormond Beach. 10 minutes from the track. Last time it was $210 per week. Not $210 per person, $210 per week period no matter how many degenerate racers crashed there. We also have a displaced Yankee friend living in Stuart, we'd leave the race car there in his driveway when we ran New Smyrna during speedweeks. Eat all his food and drink all his beer. ;) His wife simply loved to see us arrive:eek: She was estactic to see us leave,,, always vowing "never again".:D Jeanies cool but don't ever play poker with her.:(

I think pocono would be an interesting track to go to. I also think martinsville would be a neat track to go to?

Speaking of martinsville do they still have the train go by or past the track?

I thought they were supposed to take the train tracks from behind the track out.

I was watching a couple of old races from martinsville recently the spring 1995 martinsville race and the fall 1992 martinsville race.

And just after the spring 1995 race had ended a train came right past the track.

And just before the start of the fall 1992 race a train went past the track.

Both of those races were affected by rain. The spring 1995 race was delayed by rain and shortened due to darkness.

And the fall 1992 race was pushed back to monday that was when geoff bodine won the 2 races in a row on monday.

Yesterday i forgot something some people on here said they've been to daytona 1 of my aunts and her son have been there for the 500 they went to the 500 in 04 and they said they didn't care much for the 500.

They've also been to the gatorade duel's. They liked the duel's better.

Another race i would've liked to have gone to would be an indycar race at michigan unfortuanately indycars no longer run there but there are rumors they might run there again i hope they make the race 500 miles like it used to be instead of 400.

Bryan, the tracks on the back stretch of Martinsville have indeed been moved. They did that a couple of years ago. Was at the track last weekend for a modified race and it's amazing what they have done not only with the track, the seating, but also the parking. They can now put up a lot more seating on the back stretch and if one sits up high enough, one could see the entire track without a problem.

Doesn't martinsville have that hot dog that the media talks about i think it's a red hot dog? Or it's a different hot dog i've just heard them talk about it a lot.

Hi i mentioned that i was watching the fall 1992 martinsville race. I have a question about that race.

This race was postponed on sunday and pushed back to monday and it was supposed to be started at 10 a.m. but they didn't start - get the cars on track until 2 p.m. or just a little after that and they didn't actually take the green flag until 2:30 p.m.

My question is just prior to the start bob jenkins and ned jarrett were talking about how there were some fans in the grandstands but some had left they figured they either went to their cars or went to town to get something to eat.

Now on mondays when a race is cancelled don't some of the people who work at the track on sunday or on the weekend go back to their normal jobs or are things different now?

Also during a rain delay or whatever how do people leave the track or go outside of the track? And how do they reenter do you just show your ticket to get back in?

And on mondays do they have anyone at the gates to check who's coming in and out or.

I was just curious how things work during a rain delay or rainout.

Talladega and Bristol just to start....

also Vegas as it would make for a great trip ;)

Bryan, I would suppose it's just like any other day at the track, one which you have tickets for, leave and come back. The parking is outside a lot of the "tracks" so you leave the gate (they gave us a special card to get back in) go to your car, motel, whatever, and when you come back, you give them the card to get in. (I don't even think they looked at our ticket again, but maybe we handed them both.) They took part of the ticket stub, so that's why they used the tickets (which were actually just a red card) along with your ticket so they know someone hasn't just found a ticket stub somewhere. A lot of people just plan to take off a day or two after the race in case of of rain. At The Glen, there are volunteer workers and you can't just work say the NASCAR race, but have to work other events in addition to their training. I would suppose they have people they don't use at every race, so they'd have back-ups or like the fans, they plan a day or two off after the race in case of rain.

I really was remiss in not including Charlotte ...or Lowes where I could also take in a lot of the history of the sport
