Haven't watched much racing since Wheldon died, when did NASCAR start qualifying like this?
 
all tracks or just Daytona and Talladega? i kind of dig it.
 
thanks. What do guys think of it. I like they did away with the top35.
 
I think most everybody here likes it but I'll not speak for them.
Personally, I like it. Usually much more exciting especially if your driver is on the bubble trying to get in.

I like it but I hate it. It's pretty cool at the shorter tracks but this format on an SS is dumb IMO.
 
I guess anything is better than single qual runs on these big tracks, so I gotta go for I like it.

True. Single car runs are very boring on these big azz tracks.
 
I think its really stupid, especially on restrictor plate tracks
 
Well, it wasn't so great here. Like everyone else says, maybe this ain't the best thing for the super speedways.

Just in case you missed it . Not only is the fastest car in qualifying not sure to get the pole , but the season points leader is the only car assured of making the chase on points .

It's kinda like Austrailian Rules Football .

I'm aware how this works. My posts were just for the benefit of the OP.
Still yet, I like the new qualifying better than the old but it didn't work out so well today.
 
You should have seen before they had cool down units and the cars were running 35mph around the track with cars passing them going 190... Now that was something to see... Luckily it didn't last very long.

You shoulda seen when it was Dale Earnhardt, DW, Ricky Rudd, Dale Jarrett, Rusty, Terry Labonte, etc, and old man Gordon was kickin their ass.

You woulda liked NASCAR better back then. And to think, Joey Logano wasn't even born yet.

It probably depends a lot on where your driver ended up, and to be honest i don't remember where Jeff or Jimmie ended up. The bottom line is that some hated it and some loved it...so you might want to check it out for yourself and form you're own opinion.;)

Austrailian Rules Football is awesome, I haven't seen it in a long time but my friends and I used to stay up late for the Grand Final.
