The idea of these "What We Like About..." threads is to challenge the members of this forum to find the positve attributes of each of the drivers.

This is intended to be POSITIVE thoughts on the driver ONLY.

okay. Let's here what you like about NASCAR's most popular driver, Dale Earnhardt Jr.

A driver who came into the top series of NASCAR with a couple of very big shoes to fill. The challenge of being the son of what many would call "the best" became intensely more challenging in February, 2001 and it proved very difficult for a young driver. But he has overcome and is showing he is a driver worthy of praise and admiration by his driving ability...........not his connections. He is his own man and not in a shadow that many men could never escape.

He's also my favorite..... so go figure why I post this!! :)

Oh yeah, he is one of the sports favorites. An excellent driver and prolly will go down as one of the "good guys" of the sport. Also like to add that I am glad to see his name used it is about time we called him Dale. In my book he has earned what his daddy named him.

He is not only popular, good looking, talented and the son of Dale SR, but is a good actor, and has a great sponsor!

I like Dale's ability to admit when the day has gone south and his ability to get fired up when he wins a race. I have to admit that i never get tired of seeing beer baths in vic. lane.

Though I never cared much for his father, I have truely come to like this young man. His is in my opinion, a very humble man and as been said, will quickly admit when he's done wrong. He may never equal what his father did, but who will? Dale Jr. is one fine racer.

I watched him go from a young man who raced to please his father, to a man who races for himself. He is learning and growing as a person, and as a driver.

One thing I have noticed, he rarely makes the same mistake twice.

He most certainly has taken his place along side his father --- not just in dad's shadow.

It's hard to walk in the shadow of "the man", but Dale has matured into his own person. He speaks his mind. He seems genuinely enthused about racing.

That he proved he was better on tracks this year that used to eat him up. Rockingham, Dover, Darlington...that's as nice as it gets from me! ;)

He has really evolved and matured as a driver. He is now a threat to win at just about any track he goes to, although I can't see him winning at any road course any time soon.

He is an honest to goodness threat to win a championship soon. That is something I thought would never happen just a few years ago.

good driver........nice young man.....and good looking too....... :beerbang:
you can only say good about him....... :)

I really like the paint scheme on the car he drives.

He has become a more mature person, mostly due to his celebrity, and his driving improves every race. Dale, Jr., is not a flash in the pan but a solid contender. He has proven himself, in many different ways.

Despite all the conspiracy theories about how NASCAR tries to accomodate him, they can't control the cars on the field. He's a damned good driver. You don't win the Daytona 500 by sucking.

Give him some more time to grow as a driver and lemme tell you, he'll be champion at least 2 times. At least.

You don't win the Daytona 500 by sucking.

I would have picked a race other than a RP. That's asking for some conspiracy theorists to respond.

Oh, and I do enjoy his sponsor's product every now and then...

Glad you placed the "roll the eyes" symbol after that comment. Another Carolinian who understands why Budweiser keeps all those horses standing in the stable !!!!! YUK !!! :)
