ESPN shifted the race to Speed (7:30 p.m. Eastern), which typically broadcasts Camping World Truck Series races, Sprint Cup Series practices/qualifying sessions and a host of other NASCAR-related shows.

Sure, we all get defensive when NASCAR gets slighted. But let's be realistic: The NFL Draft and the NBA playoffs will draw far more viewers than a Nationwide Series race, and ESPN has business interests to keep in mind.

I see why they are doing it and I don't care since I have Speed.
 
i don't care about the draft (is that paint dry yet?) but there's no question the nba playoffs should be aired. the race is still available on speed and i'll use the last channel button on the remote to keep up with both.
 
ESPN did the right thing. The way the calendar fell and where Easter weekend was this year, it bumped the NFL draft back one week. And Richmond was moved up a week because of the way the end of April and May is. Just one of those things.

Same thing happened a few years ago. One of the NBA playoff series' went in to an unexpected game seven (on ESPN2) and ESPN1 already had another NBA game so they moved the race to ESPN Classic and worked out a deal with SPEED for SPEED to simulcast ESPN's race coverage.
 
I mean, of course some people are upset because they think NASCAR's the only sport out there.

The NFL Draft and the NBA Playoffs are more important, and bring in more money, than the NASCAR Nationwide Cup-Heavy Series.
 
Though I must admit its sad that watching a clock countdown and someone saying a name of a guy you've never heard of is more of a money maker.

IF you college football, you've heard of them.

Remember, college football on ESPN2 got higher ratings than Bristol on ABC last year.

Why care about college football when your school is undefeated since 1973.
 
I do not care about the Playoffs or the draft.

I think the playoffs in all sports with a series is to long. just one game and get it over with, and not the best out of 7.

I would not really care about this race, but the gf had to work tonight and i had nothing else to do
