For our history class we're doing a multi-genre research project and it has to be in APA writing format...which i have no clue what it is, the internet isn't helping, and my mom doesn't know what it is...I already have some of the information on Big Bill that i need...

to tack onto what buck already mentioned, APA is a style of writing that basically dictates how you do in-text citations, footnotes and bibliography stuff. If this is for class, I wouldn't recommend using the internet for too much information as most teachers don't always consider the internet very reliable. By the way, APA style is standard for history papers. I'm used to MLA, which is for Enlgish papers. I taught this crap for a few years and had to abide by it for the 6 years prior...so let me know if you have any more questions.

also, if you're near a bookstore...especially a college bookstore, go in and ask for a Bedford Writing Handbook...this will have an excellent guide. The site buck posted is pretty good, but the layout in the book is much easier to follow...also, if you have a college bookstore, get it used...much cheaper.
 
Magnethead your school is teaching you to think. Very few of us will have use for APA after this class is over. However using it even once is another link in the knowledge chain. Many of the things you are taught will never be used again. However you are training your mind to get a grip on how to think.. Something many of us still do not do too well. Good luck.

does anybody know if a book was written about big Bill? I need to find one for the bibliography..
 
i checked, they have everything but. 70 zillion books that do a "biography" of NASCAR, but not big bill himself.
 
well, there's the answer. This might actually be a good thing.

If you just found a book about big bill, then all you would be doing is a book report. This is your chance to find several books about the history of nascar, many of which will tell more about big bill within the text of the book. You can use these sources to have a well researched paper on bill france, sr.
 
well i need one on big bill..it's a multi genre research paper over a historical figure...I just been the book for the bibliography...author, publisher, publishing date, publishing city, ect...
