Another spotter for Kahne: #5-Kasey Kahne is still searching for the best spotter for his Hendrick Motorsports program as he will use his third different spotter of the year when he starts the STP 400 on Sunday at Kansas Speedway and plans to work with a fourth sometime next month. Kahne replaced longtime spotter Kole Kahne (his cousin) with former #24-Jeff Gordon spotter Shannon McGlammery after the fifth race of the season. That tryout was designed for two races (Martinsville and Texas) and now Kahne will use Richard Childress Racing spotter Kevin Hamlin the next three weeks. "(Hamlin) is just spotting for a few weeks and someone else will spot after that," Kahne said Saturday at Kansas Speedway. "That's kind of where we're at right now."(Sporting News)(4-22-2012)

I hope he finds a spotter that suits him before the seasons over it looks like their having biweekly tryouts or something?
 
I heard somewhere before that Rick Hendrick has worked that position. In fact, I think it was mentioned that he was going to spot for Earnhardt Jr. this past Bristol race while TJ took a couple weeks off. He seemed to have kept Jr. out of issues there. Maybe Rick should take that role? ;)

There is only one guy who can make an evaluation on a spotter and that is the driver .Crew chief and all other positions are group decisions .If Kasey is going to make a run at the championship next year , and I think he will , he should get himself a great spotter.

There didn't seem to be a problem before the Bristol incident. I think this is a case of reacting for the sake of reacting. Kasey wrecked at Phoenix, all his fault. I didn't see a driver change the next week. Stuff happens, if it was a constant problem I can understand it.
 
Kasey has been driving racecars for how long now and he doesn't know what he wants in a spotter yet????????????????

I think DW said something like Kasey want's to hear the info that other spotters give, and I thought the same thing.
