What's your favorite Rockingham Speedway memory?

Mine would either be Mark getting his first career win or Dale knocking down his 7th Winston Cup championship with a win and the help of Rusty's engine team.

Gotta be spending the weekend hanging out with Bunny Turner (Curtis' widow) and displaying my models along with Pop's memorabelia at the 25th anniversary celebration. Got to meet and share stories with so many people, met Pam Roberts (Fireball's daughter)for the first time, sit in Curtis' '56 convertible and get my picture took, AND I got paid by the speedway to do it! Now how cool is that? I'll try to post a pic or two this afternoon when I get home from work.

My favorite was seeing Carl Long flip. Carl's a great guy and got some good publicity for a not so fun ride.
Other great memories would be eating home made sausage under the pine trees, camping on the back stretch, and drinking underage.

Bobby Hamilton's win in the #43 and Steve Park's win the race after Sr. died.

I don't have a favorite moment, but Rockingham will always remind me of the time when Kyle Petty "owned" the track.

So true buckaroo, lots of folks think Kyle never did anything, but he was the man to beat at Rochingham for several years in the early 90's.

Kenseth and Stewart racing to the flag in the Busch series in 98. Dang good racing.

The year I went to Rockingham that Mark won I sure remember that. We had to wear toboggans and hand warmers (used for hunting) under toboggans over ears. We had to go through snow before we got back home. :)

There was a time when they called the track Markingham.

went there several times........ loved cookin out under the pines outside the track, and people watchin......lol.. Loved the Busch races there...... was there for the final race run.... but have to say my fav memory of the Rock was last year........ Seein what Andy has done with the track, seein the sport comin back..... and knowin that I was there doin my part to make sure it stays there. Love the place, great track with great character.

You mean when Kenseth knocked Stewart out of the way for the win?

That was the one. I had been watching Tony for several years before that. I knew it would get him fired up.

You going there Sunday?

Love watching Ward Burton when he was a Busch Regular, in a Gwaltney hot dog sponsored Pontiac or Olds, dominating a race filled with cup regulars. Also loved Kenseth bumping Tony out of the way on last lap for win that caught Mark Martins eyes. Also loved free tickets to every Busch race courtesy of a friend who worked for Goodwrench. Red Dogs and Hot Dogs, smoking funny things and eating homemade sausage under the pines. Unocal pit crew Championship was held there. Johnny Benson in the Valvoline cafr dominating. Good times, no gone.
