The Fusion started the year with a hood much like the Camry. Bulged in the middle and drop off after the hood lines on each edge. Now they seem to be using the same hood as Chevy, which has the flatter middle and rising lines on each edge. When the season started, it seemed to me the Chevy hood would help cars turn better by adding some down force to the right side and slight drag to the left.

Anyone know when Ford switched?

The suction from Chevy exhaust pipes probably distorted them. They are able to keep up for a few laps anyway after cautions, so it is possible.

I can't find any good pics of earlier in the year. Maybe it's just the lighting and angle that made it look different.

I feel like if the hood was changed during the season it would be a major story and there's no mention of it anywhere on Jayski, so maybe it is just an optical illusion.
