Leads me to wonder if Kyle Busch will still be a Cup Contender in the 41 this year?

When an entire team of writers, reporters, editors, and chiefs cannot execute a simple google search - but people are expected to trust the news.

I mean, I understand the temptation to point and laugh at the dopey mistake. Reporters write articles. Editors write headlines. The article itself always states Kurt Busch, not Kyle. The sports editor who wrote the headline made an error, and I wouldn't doubt that it is because he isn't knowledgeable about NASCAR. I do doubt that the entire USA Today operation labored over this single headline.

That's bad, but still not as bad as the guy who wrote an entire article about big bad Roger Penske "stealing" Ryan Blaney away from the Wood Brothers

Yes, that is infinitely worse.

Not even the sports editor. Social media department.

Here's a Fake News headline: "Track owner throws out rule book, let’s illegal car in NASCAR race keep the win"

From this piece of fake newsery: http://altdriver.com/racing/thanksg...m_source=facebook&utm_campaign=organic-social

I'm still mad about this article.

Read the first sentence under miss the cut. From the Charlotte Observer of all things:confused:

Uh, that's just so wrong.

Since the writer already knows Kenseth doesn't have a ride, why mention him at all? Better yet, why not include all those other drivers who also don't have a ride? I hear King Richard isn't under contract this year either.

And geez, even I know Kahne is getting in the #95. (That is right, isn't it? I at least know he has A ride.)

With that demonstrated level of knowledge, why would I put any credence in the writer's opinions?

My son is in high school. He wants to be a broadcaster. He's a freshman and he's up on all sports, knows what's going on especially NASCAR and MLB and he's a freelance historian on all these games. The one thing I constantly tell him (he announces his HS teams' games) is get the pronunciations of the players' names on the other team. Do your homework. Don't be that guy. Go to the opposing coach before the game and ask. Do what you have to do. Know what you're doing. The earlier he learns it, the better. He's already two steps ahead of people like this.

My favorite NASCAR typo of all time has to be that time that "Richard Childress clocked KURT Busch". :lol2:
