Nothing has been announced yet right? Full season in 2014 Nationwide in the #22 would be where I'd like to see him. Would be a great way for the Dinger to rebuild his career.

I think AJ ends up back at indycar for a few years, but it would be good to see him get back to cup.

There are very few IndyCar rides available for drivers who don't bring their own sponsors with them. I suspect he ends up driving a stock car next year, unless something happens to Penske's drivers in IndyCar (Castroneves, Power).

I see Indycar and Roger as AJ's best hope to get sponsorship. I just don't see anywhere for him in 2nd tier cup cars right now. IF FR lets Kurt walk to RCR next year, thy could give AJ a shot. I like the guy's personality, so I hope something shakes out.

Could be. Penske keeps finding part-time sponsors for AJ in both IndyCar and Nationwide, maybe he'll find an all-year deal for him. Still, I have a hunch he drives full-time in Nationwide next year.

If AJ goes to Furniture Row, it would be the third place where he would have replaced Kurt Busch. It would be kind of like Jimmy Spencer and Hut Stricklin back in the late 80's and 90's. Spencer replaced Stricklin in four different rides: the #57 Heinz car, Bobby Allison's #12, Junior Johnson's #27 McDonald's car, and the #23 Camel car.

22 -Nationwide plus an Indy 500 and a few other Indy races.

Good catch. I remembered the #51 but somehow AJ taking the #22 from Kurt slipped my mind. It all seems so long ago. I'll say this, Kurt sure seems happy with Patricia and the relationship seems to be maturing him a little.

When I first saw Kurt with his new girlfriend, she was wearing a goofy little hat and I thought Kurt had him a cute little race bunny. I think it was when he was driving the Ricky bobby car. I saw the "Outlaw" piece on speed and I changed my mind real quick. She is a sharp gal and I hope he hangs on to her. Goes into my favorites list along with Delana, and Wendy, Jeff Burton's wife, and D.W.'s. wife.

Wasn't she some PR rep for some company?

A.J. if he has a brain in his head, needs to do what Kurt is doing, keeping his options open. Penske gave him two rides in the N'wide 22, he won one race, put him in the money where he isn't hurting if he watches his finances, he did pretty good at Indy, their big money race, no use getting bogged down in a P.O.S. too many rides are loose to drive right now.

Having The Captain behind you is a huge advantage. I hope he does similar to what Danica did: a year in NW full time, with some Cup and IndyCar races where schedules allow. With his energetic attitude and a championship owner/team, he might have the best chance of pulling off 'the double' - Indy 500 & Coke 600 (No stimulant jokes, please).

Anywhere in a decent ride so he can get some stability back in his life. He is a damn good driver.

As much as I hate to say it I do not see him driving full time. I think he will have a patchwork season -- 10 or so races in the 47 cup, 10 or so races in the 22 NW, and 5 or so races in the 12 cup. Maybe some other races for a third tier team as well.

Yeah Penske has all kinds of stuff to drive and A.J. can drive anything with wheels on it, and Penske also has connections all over, been at it a long time. To answer the question on where he will end up? who knows, but as long as he stays clean, he will be driving something.

I hope it's indy car. two reasons, I really think he can do well there and I think the pressure would be less then riding for Penske in Nationwide full time..

Anything he does, he should stick with Penske tho. He owes the man alot.

A.J. has said more then once publicly he wants to race in Nascar. That is where the money and the competition is. My guess is he wouldn't turn down a good ride in any racing series at this point.

I don't see the #47 doing the 'Driver of the Week' bit next year. I think it will return to having one full-time driver, although I can't predict who.

If history repeats itself he'll be in the 78. But I think its more likely the 22 in NNS full time and him and Sam splitting the 12 in cup. Maybe the 12 can run for owners points then come into 2015 in the top 35 with AJ full time(he was the first choice before, why wouldn't he be now?).. and Ryan Blaney in the 22 NNS ride full time. I would think a lot of that depends on Penske Racing's success as a whole, and if a 3 car team is even in the cards by then.

Now that I would love to see

Before AJ screwed up I thought he had a chance to be a really decent Nascar driver and I liked him, and now I like him even more and as long as he keeps going and doing as he is now I will continue to respect how he has come back and applaud him. Look at all of the open wheel and two wheel drivers that didn't make it in nascar but so far AJ has made a decent showing.

I think he will end up in the 51 with the new owner.

Allmendinger made a mistake - as everyone of us has - and he's pulling himself back out that hole. Good for him.

He can count me as a fan, for whatever that's worth.
