Last year, NASCAR resetted the field for the Chase, going by wins in the regular season. If you got the most wins in the regular season, you were #1 when The Chase began.

Are they going to reset the field in the same way this year, or are they just going to leave it as it is?

They did reset it. They reset everyone to 2000 points with each driving getting 3 points per win. The wild card drivers remain at 2000 points regardless of how many wins.

Ahh. Well, Johnson got some grounds to make up then. Last year, he scraped out a Championship at the last race in Homestead, I don't think he can afford to do that again if he wants #6.

Denny handed it to him on a silver platter, and he was in position to accept.

He's what, 9 points back with ten races to go? My continued fear is that he'll be just fine.

I dunno though, I mean he'd usually have more than just one win going into The Chase. Hel until last year, he'd usually have the Championship all tied up by the time they went into Homestead.

It'll be interesting to watch the next 10 races, that's for sure.

A few more confrontations with KuBu and he could end up 12th.

If JJ can stay away from Kurt he should be alright. Other than Richmond he's been running great and I see no reason he won't for the next 10 races.
