There are "what's best" phone threads already but I couldn't find them. All of you that have been on here for more than a month know that I use a flip open phone for calls only. But my wife has an HTC Droid incredible 2 that she likes and knows how to use. Our contract is up and we have a choice of several free phones. Which ones would you get and which ones are the best.

The ones offered to my wife.
LG Enact
LG Lucid 3
LG G2
LG G Vista
Blackberry Z10
Samsung Galaxy S4 mini
HTC One
Apple I Phone 4S
Apple I Phone 5C

The one offered to me.
Apple I phone 4S

If they let me I'll keep my flip top and sell the new one.

LG phones are just not good phones. I've never had anything but negative experiences with LG phones. Horrible pieces of ****. I've never had an HTC phone but I've heard really bad things - especially regarding battery.

Apple and Samsung phones are the only way to go.

The iPhone 4S is outdated but probably the best bet. Only downfall is no 4G. I think I'd switch over to Android before I got an iPhone 5C.

I spend all day fixing Samsung Note II phones. Pretty damn tough and idiot proof ... but then, it would seem we higher a better standard of idiot .

Personally, you couldn't pay me to own a cell phone. It's a sad sad thing that people can't live without being out of contact for more than 45 seconds at a time. What did it for me? Watching some mother walking through the grocery store yapping on her rap rod with some other ass clown about nothing at all (the sort of thing people used to waste time over a cup of coffee) while her kid screams for attention and chucks things outta the cart. Next aisle, a guy having an intense conversation with someone over the brand of toilet paper to buy. A little further along, someone runs over someone else's ankle while texting.

You can keep them.

Prof, I'm with you. I hate to see people walk around with a phone in their hand.
My little flip phone stays in my purse unless I need to make a call --- which may be once a week.
Very few people have my cell number.

I think more people have seen Carrot Top in his birthday suit than have your cell number.

My cell phone doesn't interfere with my personal relationships. I have told my wife that she can text me anytime she likes and that I will reply as soon as I finish my other browsing. I have even encouraged her to join here if she needs to talk with me more on one of our threads
And I will always enjoy any selfie snapshots she wants to send me.

And I have an unlimited data plan anyhow, so it can't ever possibly be a problem.

Smartphones can be so great for relationships.

Check out this youtube fireplace. All one has to do is to have this one burning on a big Galaxy Note screen after she finishes her shower. The burning fire with two hours of stamina will surely make her yours.

You can even load a youtube one with Romantic music to play along with the fireplace.
Leon Phelps would have killed for this kind of technology.

My Galaxy S3 is giving me trouble. I'd hesitate getting another another Galaxy and I'm not sure I'd want a mini either.

I upgraded my Tracfone to one of their smartphones (Android 4). I don't use a cell phone much but I wanted to replace the paperback in the car (waiting room reading) and a more convenient way to maintain a grocery list (my needs are small). I thought it unusual that cell phone reviews talk about the computing power and no one mentions the sound quality of a phone call.

I am thinking about getting a big Samsung Note 10 tablet (name may not be correct, just think big tablet).
I don't want a new contract, I just want to WiFi and Bluetooth or Hotspot it to my Galaxy Note 2, when I am at work. Does anyone know if the Bluetooth or Hotspot idea is possible, feasible etc....
Does anyone know if you can switch SD cards etc and watch downloads from the phone on the tablet etc, or pair or teather the two.

I want to do this with no new contracts, I am grandparented into an unlimited Data plan, and I will utilize that as long as possible.

Thanks.

I've have the Galaxy Note 8 WIFI only model, it also has Bluetooth and not data plan. It works fine over my home WIFI; I also have a Bluetooth amplifier for speakers I built and and the tablet pairs up with it, the sound if fine but objects between the tablet and amp or moving the tablet around too much can disrupt the signal. You can pair the tablet to a phone via Bluetooth and transfer files, you can transfer files via an SD micro card.

I don't know what the hell most of you are saying. You all have to speak nerd slowly so I can follow it. I still don't know which one to get her.

Apple or Android?

4S or 5C ,...or HTC One (beautiful looking phone.)

Camera a bit better on the Apples according to reviews

All you need to know for full use, is to get a good screen saver (splash guard) and a hard Cover (spank back shell).

S3 was released poorly, same as the Note 2, many, MANY known motherboard issues that were resolved in the S4/Note 3. Note 4 is having manufacturing issues but I haven't heard anything on the S5.
