i would say newman or surprising enough, jeff green;)

i changed my mind, jimmie or jeff

I like Jimmie Johnson, but that #12 car is stout. If he wouldn't have blown motors this season, he would have easily been on top. I have to pick Newman.

Newman 2003 Champion and Jimmie Johnson will have a Kevin Harvick sophmore type year

Jeff Green's rookie year was way back in 1997. I think that excludes him from this poll.

I voted for Ryan.

I voted for Newman, but I would worry about the equipment. As long as those engines keep running he'll get a title.

Might actaully give him more of an advantage. My vote goes for Newman.

i say johnson.. i think newman won't have the consistency he had last year and johnson will have less problems

I like Newman's chance's, If he goes easier on those engines he will be a definate threat in 2003.

I picked Jimmie bc i like him better!! They both are in Pretty good stuf so it would be hard to make a clear pick.

People can talk all they want but both drivers had there problems in 2003 and both showed consistancy, jimmie showed more acording to the winston cup points, and ryan did better acording to the ROTY points. I think they will both be top 10 points continders ( if ryan can work out the problems with the switch), and I think one of them will win there first cup in 2004.

I voted for JJ because I'm a Gordon fan. Heck, I had to base it on something.

I like both drivers and feel both have a good chance of winning a championship in the near future.

I like both drivers but Ryan Newman is really nice ( means he gave me an autograph ). So that is why I picked him.

Actually, it was the other way around and that's why Newman won the ROY award with less overall points.

I voted for Jimmie Johnson, mainly because He drives a Chevy & I kind of like-lol-His owner!:) :D I do seriously think tho that Jimmie has more focus that's needed for winning the Cup,He's also the 1st rookie to ever lead the WC series point standings(1 week),but nonetheless a new record in NASCAR history! The great equipment these"young guns"are getting from the very start is really showing up on the track,IMO!:)

The first to win a Championship? Or is that the first to win a Championship next season? On the first option, I'm going with JJ. He's going to have one year advantage over Ryan being that he is basically picking up where he left off this past season.......Ryan has to start back a little with a different car to drive.

The second option.........niether.:D I think it will be between Mark Martin (again) and either Tony with back to back wins or Jr.:D :(

I say Johnson because the program of Hendricks has not changed as much as Penske's program.[dodge] If you know what I mean.;)
