I voted today --- and had to stand in line!

Looks like everyone and their dog is going to the polls. I live in a small town, and this is unbelievable, but good to see.

I voted today as well. Tiny line, waited maybe 5 minutes and most of that due to the 173 year old lady working. I had to help HER to the voting booth...

Tn. started voting last week. Me and Spok4 went and voted then. Not to bad. But the lines will get longer.

Mailing mine in tomorrow...going to 12 hours shifts the 1st and 2nd and I won't have a chance to hit a machine.

Here in the land of the cheese, you can only vote early if you request an absentee ballot. YOu can either go to city hall or they will mail you one. Polling places open and machine voting only on election day.

I'm waiting till the 2nd when I get off work.......like I've done every election. Only one time was there a line and that was when we have to vote at a polling place other than our normal...........it was the special election when the state tossed Gray Davis out on his ear!! :)

Our polling place is only about 4 blocks from us and it's almost never crowded at the time we go which is about 4 pm.........it gets pretty busy around 5 or 6 from what I hear.

Now, if voting early would only exempt me from having political ads beamed into my home. LOL

I had to vote early --- plan on being in Charlotte, NC touring race shops on the 2nd. hehehe

To be honest 97, I never heard of it, other than absentee voting, before this year. We have two machines at my station and didn't even know it until someone asked me where they were....I don't know if Bama does it or not.

Just read in the paper, Alabama does not practice early voting unless by absentee ballot. I think like only 18 states currently practice this.

I just hope that they all count; early voting, absentee, and on the 2nd. :)

I hope that there will be a big turnout.

A question...who do you think a large turnout will benefit most? I'm curious as I really dont follow politics that closely.
