I saw something on ESPN about Jeffrey Earnhardt trying to make Busch race at Dover.

Thanks, I just typed his name correctly on Wikipedi and read his bio. If I was computer savy, I would load it in here for all to read.

He looks like Grampa to me, hope he drives like him too.

Earnhardt signing autographs in 2007

Jeffrey Earnhardt (born June 22, 1989 in Mooresville, North Carolina) is the grandson of the late Dale Earnhardt. He is the son of former NASCAR driver Kerry Earnhardt. Jeffrey was signed in 2007 to drive for Dale Earnhardt, Inc. in the Busch East Series.

Racing career

Jeffrey Earnhardt is the middle child of Renee Earnhardt and Kerry Earnhardt, grandson of Dale Earnhardt and the great-grandson of Ralph Earnhardt and nephew to Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Earnhardt's first race came in the Hornet Division at Wythe Raceway in Rural Retreat, Virginia. He scored 3 feature wins and finished in the top 5 in division points, winning Rookie of the Year. The following year he moved up to the Sportsman division at the Motor Mile Speedway in Radford, Virginia, finishing the season in the top 10 of the division standings. He also competed in the late model season finale at the track as a teammate to RCR developmental driver Allison Duncan.
In 2006, General Motors created a driver developmental search program wherein they looked for individuals they believed to be the stars of the future and invited them to test a late model and a Busch car at 2 different tracks with the best moving on. Jeffery made the final cut.
In 2007 Earnhardt drove a #1 Chevrolet for Andy Santerre Motorsports in the NASCAR Busch East Series. He finished 5th in the 2007 Busch East point standings and won the Most Popular Driver award at the end of the season.[1]
In 2008, Earnhardt plans to return to what is now known as the NASCAR Camping World East Series for another full season, along with selected Nationwide Series races. Earnhardt was unexpectly replaced in the car at Dover in September 2008, and replaced with by Aric Almirola who won the race.
Jeffrey will drive a limited NASCAR Nationwide Series schedule in 2009 for Rick Ware Racing. His first scheduled event for the team is the May 30th event at Dover International Speedway. Jeffrey will race a progressive schedule in 2009, running in seven events from a 1-mile track to a 2-mile oval as he prepares for the 2010 season and a Raybestos Rookie of the Year campaign.

Stick him in the 88 car and see what happens.

Might surprise everyone.

He will probably run the #8 in a few races next year while doing a full Nationwide schedule if I had to guess. Since its an Earnhardt sponsorship shouldnt be hard to find.

I am going to guess 3 races in the #8 with Bad Boy Mowers as the primary and 2 races with Realtree as the primary. Nothing to back this up, just felt like making an off the wall prediction.

Mario Andretti couldn't make the 88 go any faster.

Do you honestly believe that?

I'll bet if you sent those same cars to any other of the top Hendrick teams including SHR if the chassis was built properly as all other Hendrick cars they will have them running up front.
If Tony Jr builds his different and you can not adjust them in then he needs to be fired for not following how the winners build their cars.

Agreed, they just need to become better teamates, and take the knowledge that is around them and let it marinate a little, and then reap the benifits. Something has got to change, Junior is dismall right now.

Jeffrey Earnhardt is a good racer, saw him race and met him at Stafford back in 2007. Seems to have a grounded attitude and his work ethic seems to be good. The only problem that might hold him back is his father, not sure who his manager is, but Kerry has a lot of input in where Jeffrey goes and who he drives for.

My understanding is that he signed a driver development contract with DEI last year...
