Junior taking his teammate ranks up there but Brian Vickers took one of his out as well.

I'm a Jr fan.....but his bumping Mikey was the bonehead move of the race, hands down! Wish he hadn't done that...but he did.

And Brian didn't take a team mate out by bumping Bill Elliott.........Jeff almost took himself out by being back in the pack to get involved in the first place.

Jr and vickers were equally ignorant. Vickers, however does this stuff on a regular basis. Therefore my bonehead vote would have to be for him.

^ proof again that you only see you want to see. And remember. :growl:

from sportingnews.com:

There were a record 22 cautions (one turned into red) during the Coca-Cola 600 last Sunday. One flew after Dale Earnhardt Jr. tagged teammate Michael Waltrip from behind. Tony Eury Sr., Dale Earnhardt Inc.'s director of competition, was not happy. Clearly. "I don't know what his (Junior's) problem is with Michael," Eury said, "but it will be fixed tomorrow--I guarantee it. He acts like he's friends with him, but every time he gets near him on the racetrack, he ends up wrecking him. DEI has enough problems. We don't need that."

Are they friends or not?

Which one is the veteran driver and which is just out of rookie status?
Which one has been told to pick it up or be prepared to go home, thereby making them more aggressive?
Which one punted a team mate and which punted an opponent? Admittedly one that wasn't in contention. Someone needs to tell Brian that if he's going to take out someone at least take out a front runner.

Why is it assumed that these moves a deliberate? Going at that speed, that close to the car in front of you is the cause. There's no way Jr would bump Waltrip, or anybody, on purpose. Not in a telecast major race, anyway. Same with Vickers and Elliott. And Tony and Nemechek last week. And JJ and Jeff Burton a few weeks ago. Just the slightest change in speed, and BINGO.
(Exceptions may be get-even bumps like we see every now and then. And possibly last lap race-for-the-win incidents.)

To totally avoid these bumps would be not to follow other cars too close. But that would make it boring racing, wouldn't it?

But it gives the press ammunitions for weeks. And forum members, I guess.

Oh, bump, you take all the fun out of it. ;)

Actually, I agree with you. I can't see any driver out on that track, at those speeds, deliberately taking anyone out. It's just too dangerous.

I'm a Jr fan and voted his move as the worst. He should know better.
Was pulling for Gordon after that. Vickers ruined that for me.

Could be interesting - if Lil'E shows up. Remember a few years ago when Mikey was saying how he and Park had to be at the 8am meetings while Lil'E would show up around noon. I wonder if that's changed...

Jr......i think it was a mistake...i dont think he did it on purpose....but it was plain stupid.

i think jr is feeling the presure now...everyone is comming down on him right now..i for one am still going to support him...he needs some luck on his side right now.
